i first heard wotw when i was bout 11 or 12 when my dad used to play it in his car whenever he went out. i thought "this is amazing" and have loved it ever since. its based on the original novel written by H.G Wells over 100 years ago, in 1898.
its about stupid aliens that come over from mars cus their planet is gettin exhausted and is no longer able to sustain life. the aliens come over and kick our arses somewhat terrible. anyway absoloutely nothing works against them, takin into account that they didnt have the technology that we have today. well there was one thing, a big ass iron clad (which is an enormous warship) called thunderchild, but the martians melt his ass. so that didnt work. the journalist and an artillery man have been forced to live underground in order to survive. the artillerey man gets loads of ideas about the future like capturing a fighting machine (which is a martian killing machine) and try to learn how to make them themselves. anyway that goes to pot and the journalist leaves him. youll have to find out the ending for yoursleves. this musical is amazing and u really should buy it. its got richard burton, phil lynot, julie covington, justin hayward and david essex in it. the best music ever.
