Some of you may know that I do enjoy Jim Davidson's humour. One of my friends bought this CD for me directly from his website thinking it was one of his comedy shows.

These are classic songs sung by Jim and produced by Greg Lake.

The Packaging
=============

The front cover has a white background with a picture of Jim on the right hand side wearing black whilst holding a jacket over his shoulder. On the left hand side in blue type is Jim Davidson and below in red typing is Watching Over You.

There is nothing on the inside cover. The back cover has two pictures of Jim, one faded into the background and the other forward to the left. On the right hand side in red typing is the list of tracks as described above.

The CD itself is white with black writing the Jim's name and title of the album. Either there was not much budget or he didn't want to spend a lot.

The Songs
========

I must confess I have only listened to it twice now, once when I received it and the second time for this review.

When I first listened to this album I had to wonder whether these were classic songs sung by Jim or songs about Jim's life. This is just my opinion but I'll give you a break down of some references.

Gimme Some Loving should say it all, he likes his loving/women.

The words to Drive include "Who's gonna drive you home?" refers to his license or lack of.

The words in Guilty could refer to his drink problem.

Father & Son - Jim's father was big whisky drink, could Jim be referring that he has turned into his Father.

Cats in the Cradle - Jim's job takes him away from his children for months at an end sometimes.

Anyway this is just a thought, I might be completely wrong.

The last song on the CD Watching Over You was written by Greg Lake as a lullaby for his children, which is quite sweet.

Overview
=======

This is definitely easy listening music, Jim can sing better than I would imagine he could but I don't think Top of the Pops shall be calling yet.

I am a fan of Jim's humour but I am not wholly impressed with his singing, Jim stick to the day job!

If you like this type of music and/or the songs on the album then you could probably pick one up from ebay as Jim's website no longer offers the merchandise facility (He's ran out!).

This copy was purchase for £12 plus £1.79 VAT and £2.50 shipping. A total price of £14.50, which is quite expensive for a CD but then again, I didn't buy it!
