Sweeney Todd is a musical based on the Fleet Street Barber of London (Benjamin Barker).
This film is entertaining and fun to watch. It features Helena Bonham-Carter as the loveable Mrs Lovett and Johny Depp as Benjamin Barker.
The story for is based on Benjamin Barker and his revenge. His revenge for being locked up for a crime he didnt even commit. The musical follows Barkers/Todds return to London to find his wife and his daughter.
He soon discovers his daughter is being kept by Judge Turpin and this starts Todds rampage on almost everyone he can get his hands on in london,turning him into a serial killer - all in the name of revenge.
Todd joins up forces with Mrs Lovett (who is besotted with him,and would do anything for him) even help him dispose of the bodies of his victims - in a very unusual way!

Advantages: Great acting Disadvantages: Unimaginative song writing
When i found out that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp were doing another colaboration i didn't even need to know anything else about it, i knew it would be something special. Yet i found myself feeling slightly dissapointed at the end of the movie.
The acting was fantastic from a brilliant cast Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd, Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs Lovett, Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin and Timothy Spall as Beadle. However it is not the acting that was in question. I have seen other Tim Burton musicals, Nightmare Before Christmas the more popular which most people know, and in comparisson to this Sweeney Todd's songs were very repetitive.
Yet songs aside, the interpretation of Sweeney Todd - The DemonBarber of Fleet Street brings me to the conclusion that there could bot have been a more perfect person to direct this movie, Tim ...
Advantages: A good Tim Burton movie Disadvantages: Too much singing
Tim Burton is a master of gothic movies. We have also seen he can add musical numbers to his movies in "nightmare before christmas". That being said I was still unsure if he could pull off a live action musical with his usual dark twist.
Most know the story of Sweeny Todd or have itleast heard the name. In this version we find Sweeny arriving back in London after being flasly accused of a crime 15 years before. He was known as Ben Barker back then and he was a barber with great skill. He also had a beautiful wife and baby daughte. However the jealous judge Turpin (played by Alan Rickman) wants Barkers wife Lucy to himself and sends him to Australia. When Barker escapes and returns and meets with Mrs Lovett the pie maker (Helena Bohnam Carter - Tim Burtons partner).She tells Barker (now under his alias sweeny todd) that his wife ...
