convention for the jazz ensemble during the 1920s. The distinctive reverberation of his voice and inventive trumpet work became synonymous with Dixieland swing and secured "Satchmo" his legendary status. ThroughoutThe Pure Genius of Louis Armstrong, we are given ample reminders of exactly why. Beyond every timeless recording lies another, each distinct in character and dripping with nostalgia. While most are accustomed to the joys of "We Have All the Time in the World" and "Hello Dolly", it is less- recognised tracks like the bourbon-drinking blues of "Mood Indigo" and riverboat cadence of "Only You (&You Alone)" that prove the real treat. --George Lees.
...and for the next ten years Louis toured around and became ultra famous.
During this timeLouis met and married different women (4 inall including Lillian) and then came the 1940?s when music tastes changed. Sales dwindled and Joe Glaser decided to replace Louis orchestra with a smaller group, that group became one of the most popular groups in the history of Jazz, named LouisArmstrong Allstars.
For the next 20 years Louis and his group toured the world, having such famous records like Hello Dolly which knocked the famous Beatles off the top charts.
In 1968 Louis recorded the song What A Wonderful World which he sang with so much feeling, it was almost like a diary, how he?d seen trees of green, red roses too and how he?d seen them bloom, he sang about children playing and how he?d watched them grow, it was like as if he was reliving his life...

Advantages: Amazing contrast of voices, Disadvantages: Some sonic quality is lost due to the age of the recording
...This CD is a brilliant stepping-stone into the Jazz world. The instantly recognisable voice of LouisArmstrong is familiarly heart warming, Louis stood next to the sensational Ella, make a fine pair. The strong vocals are supported by the excellent band, with great instrumental links keeping the listener on the edge of their seat.
The intensity and coarseness of Mr. Armstrong's voice compels the audience to wish for the next scat solo or the next parade of incredible human talent that is Louis. Of course the same can be said of the sassy Ms. Fitzgerald who can sustain these high levels of aptitude.
I recommend this CD to any budding music fan who wishes to broaden their Musical horizons! HAPPY LISTENING!
