Review of Best Of Fats Domino, The - Fats Domino by zrxsheep

Advantages: His sound will last forever, this cd is a classic
Disadvantages: Nothing about Fats is a disadvantage

...I cannot find a fault with this artist or cd as how can a man as successful as Fats Domino have any dis-advantages. This man has done so much for music, coloured musicians what a talented artist, he rates right up there with Elvis, Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, some of his songs on this cd are better than the artists i have listed above. This man made more than 20 rthymn and blues records that each sold more than a million copies, his total records sales was just over one hundred million. His real name was Antoine Fats Domino and born in New Orleans on 26th Feb 1928. His first ever record was made in 1949 "The Fat Man" and became a gold record in 1953. He played the piano for Lloyd Price's hit "Lawdy Mrs Clawdy" and stared in 4 films "The Girl Can't Help It" // "Shake Rattle N Roll" // "Jamboree... Read review

BLUES AT ITS BEST
Review of BB King - King, BB by michellej

Advantages: JUMPIN TUNES
Disadvantages: HARDLY ANY

...Another great Rhythm & Blues artist is the unforgettable BB King, who is indeed the King of Rhythm and Blues. The electric guitar just seems to sing when his fingers stroke the strings, I’ve always been a fan of BB King since I became a rhythm and blues fanatic, what I really want to do is go to his café in New Orleans and listen to him jam personally. Now that would be unforgettable. He has a bass voice, very deep and husky. I can’t really say much about the King Of Rhythm and Blues apart from no-one will beat him and he’ll always retain that figure. This is a great album for the serious Rhythm & Blues listener, even if you’re not a fan or a bit of the uneducated side when it comes to the creation of music.. have a listen… this is how music began! Tracks on the Anthology album include: How Blue Can... Read review

Gospel Roots Aaron Neville
Review of Gospel Roots - Aaron Neville by cheepcheep1

Advantages: good mix of music
Disadvantages: absolutely none!

...I could not, even if I tried, write anything negative about this double CD featuring Aaron Neville. This man's voice is phenomenal and wonderfully unique. He is originally from New Orleans and has a wonderful New Orleans Rhythm and Blues sound. His voice will reach your inner being every time he opens his mouth and a note comes out! There is a wide spectrum throughout this particular collection. We have the up-tempo and foot-tapping beat of 'Oh happy Day' & 'I saw the light' to the sultry, moody sound of 'Ave Maria' and 'Amazing grace.' The rest of the songs included in these 2 CD's are: What a friend we have in Jesus, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Morning has Broken, If I had a Hammer, Let it Be , Mary don't you Weep, Steer me Right, Gotta Serve Somebody, A Change is Gonna Come, I Believe, Let Go, Banks of the River Jordan, Jesus...
