Having seen the show in London earlier this year, I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed myself in a theatre as much as I did that evening. I was a little dubious that the music on the CD would live up to the memory of seeing it live, but I was very much mistaken.
Being an avid Queen fan, I was impressed by the alterations made to the words of the songs, so I was glad to hear that those words could easily be heard on the recording. In fact, I have since been able to learn those words as I've listened to the CD so many times!
The only thing that I do not like about the recording, is that sometimes there is a little bit of the acting recorded at the beginning or at the end of a track. I would have preferred either that they had sung the music separately, without performing, or they could have recorded the entire performance; the mix and match approach is less effective.
Saying that, I consider this CD a good buy, since it always reminds me of how much I enjoyed the show. If you haven't seen the show itself then do! It would be extremely confusing to listen to the altered words with no concept of the storyline. For example "And everything we want to get, we download from the internet" might sound a little odd to the uninitiated!
It should be noted, that almost all of the great Queen songs are on there, and the singers make a fantastic effort to live up to Freddie's amazing vocal range, even if they do occasionally share that mammoth task! I can wholeheartedly recommend buying this CD, you will not regret it!

I have since edited this review, but only to change what I put in the disadvantages section, and to change the star rating from 5 stars to 4. The review content has not been change as although I feel I could do it better now, I feel it's important to leave it as it was and learn from it. Seen the show live..and got the music on my CD. I don't think that the original cast of WWRY are all the best....Yes, HJF is amazing but personally I think that the current Scara is the best..shes called Sabrina Alleche! Kerry Ellis is the best Meat ever xx
