Away We Go

Advantages: A interesting story which is both funny and moving
Disadvantages: Not a film everyone would enjoy

I saw this film recently and I really liked it. It is quite a quirky film, which is funny and touching at the same time. The film is based around two main characters in their 30s, Burt and Verona (played by John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph). Verona falls pregnant, completely unplanned, and then Burts parents make the surprise announcement that they are moving to Belgium.. 3 months before the baby is born. This news rocks the couples world, the only reason that they moved to that area was to be close to Burt?s parents. Veronas parents died many years ago, which she doesn?t like to talk about, and now they have nothing keeping them there, neither of them are in jobs they want to do and they live in a small, dingy flat where the lights keep going out. Away We Go- Lets go with them

Advantages: Beautiful story.Nice performances
Disadvantages: Might not appeal to all

I was curious what Sam Mendez would do after Revolutionary road,a film that i thought was well told. I was rather unimpressed with his American beauty but after watching Revolutionary road and now Away we go,i have to say he knows what he is doing! Away We Go is a simple film.A film about an expecting couple looking to move away from their previous home to a new place.Burt(an ordinary insurance sales person)and Verona suddenly make the decision of moving away after Burt's parents decide to move away to europe just before the due date of their child's birth.
