Awesome Hymns

Advantages: outstanding
Disadvantages: shame they have split

...It always takes me a little time to adjust to a new music taste or Band , The Verve were a classic example of this. I like to live in my comfort zone and don't like to admit to liking these rough looking groups. Can you remember the video to "Bitter Sweet Symphony" an arrogant Richard Ashcroft walking down a street pushing old ladies out of the way. This is just not cricket. Then I told myself to grow up and listen to the quality of the music. This track and the CD it comes from "Urban Hymns" is an anthem for the 90's. Other brilliant tracks such as "The Drugs Don't Work" and "Lucky Man" make this a CD to be played and played. But then they split , just as I had opened my Music Ears to them they had gone. Never mind , a CD to treasure in my collection.... Read review

...urban hymns was without doubt one of the best albums of the nineties.every track was differant,from the awsome energy of "come on"to the downbeat and mellow "the drugs dont work"i have almost worn out this c.d. it sounds just as good today as it did when i first heard it.in my eyes it is a masterpeice,never to be bettered.i dont know many people who dont like it.the album takes you through almost every mood you feel. definetly worth a place in your c.d. collection.although not playing any more,this album will continue to sell for years.... From Barry White to Nu Colours

Advantages: Loads of great songs
Disadvantages: Some not so great songs

...Like most soundtracks, this one has a complete mixture of music.The album has 14 songs, and for those who haven't figured it out yet is the soundtrack from 4 weddings and a funeral. Four weddings and a funeral was a romantic comedy featuring Hugh Grant and Andy McDowell, but it also had cameos from other famous actors, like Rowan Atkinson. Most of the songs have a little bit of dialogue from the film in them at the start. I love these bits as it reminds me of the film which I love. I suggest, though, that you don't buy the soundtrack having not seen the film, as the dialogue won't make sense and soundtracks are always better if they remind you of the film. The album was released in 1994. Ok, so the 14 songs: 1. Love is all around - Wet wet wet Do not tell me you don't know this song. I don't really think there is much point me... Read review
