“Weezer - The Green Album”

published 14/07/2001

ProWeezer - new and improved. Back at last.

ConsNot the longest album ever recorded.

Weezer, where have they been? I remember them from back in the mid-nineties when everyone went mad for "Buddy Holly". And that's probably how, after five years away from the music scene, most people remember Weezer (the Buddy Holly guys). But now they're back with (almost) the original line up...

“Don't Let Go.”

ProOne of the best cheery/summer albums ever

ConsToo short!

Welcome to the world of Weezer. Please wipe your feet. 'The Green Album' was the first Weezer album I bought. Inspired by the fact that 'Hash Pipe' (The album's firts single) had been stuck in my head for almost 3 weeks solidly, and given the impetus to buy by the pay check from those three weeks...

Weezer- The Green Album I havn’t attempted an album review yet – and I’ve realised that it is very difficult. *Who are Weezer?* Rivers Cuomo (vocals and guitar) and Brian Bell (drums) along with errr, a bassist (Mikey Welsh since 1997) and a guitarist (Brian Bell since they got...

As I’ve previously stated, I loved Weezer’s self-titled debut album, but I missed the 1996 follow-up “Pinkerton”, and, as the band dissolved following that album, I never really thought too much more about them. Then, earlier this year, they reformed and released another...

I'm not gonna give you the whole history of Weezer, or give you a detailed account of every member of the band, but I will tell you just how good this album is. It is possibly the most melodic album this year, and it gives you the feeling of being in a dream, not least the song Island in the Sun...

“A great summer album!”

published 13/09/2003

ProVery catchy, pop rock tracks!

ConsA few filler tracks.

"The Green Album" was released by Weezer in 2001 after a five year absence from the world of commercial releases, and created more Weezer fans than either of their previous albums. The album is very different to their first two. Comparitively, it lacks the feeling and determination you can hear...

“Weezer Vote green”

ProIt rocks

ConsToo short

It has been many years since we have heard anything from the Weezer boys, 5 to be exact and apart from getting a new bass player nothing has really changed. But is their new album worth the wait... Damn straight it is. It is obvious from the moment that you see the cover that they are trying to...

“Weezer Go Green”

published 08/11/2017

ProShort and sweet power-pop-rock

ConsFormulaic, overly polished

Mike Welsh's only Weezer album - Matt Sharp had departed; opener 'Don't Let Go' is "woo-woah-ooh-woah" not pushing limits - a band finding its feet after a 5 year hiatus? The tone is set for most of the album, and I would listen for the drums breaking away at the song's closure. The green one is...
