Welcome to Hell indeed!

Advantages: Aggressive/raw intensity, album lasts for 40 mins or so, very influential album
Disadvantages: Not entirely suitable for the non-metal/rocker, it may prove to be too heavy for their ears.

Welcome to Hell- Venom = Venom is regarded as the fathers to black metal; when in reality they were a New Wave of Heavy Metal band with black metal 'imagery'; any metal band today, you can trace it back to its origins: Venom. That is how much Venom in its early days influenced the entire metal world. The three main bands at the time- Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Motorhead was doing their music and Venom just blew them away in terms of creativity and speed, and paved the way for new bands to come along later. All bands afterwards (in death, thrash and black metal) took its raw intensity and aggressiveness influence from Venom and put their own creativeness to shape the two metal genres today: thrash and black metal. Now; the album. It is where the term black metal was taken and created an entire new genre of metal ...

Welcome To A Great Band

Advantages: great tracks, the first album of a brilliant band
Disadvantages: a couple of weak tracks

the highlights of Side Two of the album, but there are only a couple of weak tracks and as usual, I would recommend this album. The Beautiful South are one of the best bands in Britain, but are often forgotten about. They rarely have Top 10 hit singles, but their albums are continually hugely successful. The amount of talent in the group is amazing and Paul Heaton is a genius. ...

Welcome A Beta Band

Advantages: A superb album, very catchy, entertains throughout
Disadvantages: Still Tragicly underrated

It seems strange that its been a couple of months since my last music review. So to get myself back into music reviews again I?ve decided to go for a recent addition to my music collection. The third album from, The Beta Band. They are one of the best kept secrets in the country, that in fact everyone will probably have heard at some point. I?m sure your probably wondering how that?s possible, well they appear on a number of soundtracks. Most notably one of the main tracks on Trigger happy TV was by The Beta Band and they also get a mention in High Fidelity. Coming out of Edinburgh they have risen slowly with 2 previous albums and a collection of their EP?s. It?s the appearance on Trigger Happy that really brought them to my attention and inspired me to seek out some music by the band. Although they receive a lot of coverage they seem ...
