This is the best album i have listened to since usher 8701 and considering that i wasn't a fan of raggae i can well and truley say that i am now!! Thank god some one has come about who doesn't want to talk about bitches , ho's and pimp sticks. He is so original and unique and offers something that no other current artists are offering! Each song is different and they each have a meaning.
I will go through some of my favs
number1: heavy bass line with a soldier theme all about working and drinking in bars but not what you would think it's not about getting pissed and falling over its about the rules in a bar, but its also simbolising all the rules there are in life. It's amazing
Number 2 : welcome to jamrock. If you haven't heard this yet then you must live in a cave it was one of the biggest songs of 2006 and it is telling you of the life in Jamaica and the education that the children are getting and how they are turning to gun crime and violence, with a heavy bass line and raggae themed background it is very easy listening!
number 3: Beautiful featuring bobby brown. It is an excellent summer tune for 2006 and just makes you want to put a bikini on and run out side. a love song with a twist it's not mushy like ooooooh i love you la la la he talks about the real stuff that happens in a relationship and how it grows and i can relate to it!
number 4 : Pimpass paradise. He sings about a woman with a drug addiction and how it's progressed over time. He speaks of the differences in her both physicaly and mentaly and he really makes you see what people go through in these sort of situations Number 5 hey girl?. This is another sort of long song but of a faster tempo and it's nice to hear a man especially one like damien marley talk about his feeling for the fairer sex i love it
Number 6: there for me. This is such a good song it's about his family and how they have been there for him his whole life and he will give them the same respect. This is so good i could listen to it over and over again it makes you think about your own family. It's slow and chilled a++
Number 7: we're gonna make it. This is the funnest song of the album it's classic up tempo raggae and his voice is unbelievably high throughout it. It's very uplifting and i actually managed to pursuade my boyfriend to let me keep a kitten (trust me this works if you sing it continuasly and change the words to what you want it will gradually wear them down!)
by the by these are just a list of my personal favourite tracks not the order on the cd
He amazes me how he changes his voice on every song on some i didn't even know that it was him plus he writes his own lyrics with his brothers.
It only has 14 tracks on it but i just listen to it over and over again This man is amazing and i would recommend any1 ten times over to buy it!
