Advantages: Some early signs that Timbaland is a hit making machine Disadvantages: Cartoon voice Magoo and a few tracks that are just wrong all wrong
This is where it all started for Timbaland, his first album where he produced all the tracks and let us into his world. Ok its billed as our world but Magoo is just the front for the mastermind behind the beats.

As for Magoo, ive never seen him away from Timbaland's side and why would you when you have the voice of a cartoon character.

Its a very experimental album which gives you the impression that all this was fun. An album made with your mates and trying to feel out what sounded the best, as the years have gone by his sound has become more and more popular and will always find one of his productions in the charts. As for Magoo, ive never seen him away from Timbaland's side and why would you when you have the voice of a cartoon character.
Beep Beep - Not amazing but it gives you an idea of what you have let yourself in for, be ready to open your mind and accept Feel It - Ok again not great but by this time you get used to the types of lyrics youre gonna be hit with, which to be honest are not great but Tims not about the lyrics. Up Jumps The Boogie - This track features Aaliyah & Missy Elliott and is the first good instalment on the album. Again beats are way out leftfield but its catchy and sticks in your head. A great contribution by aaliyah Clock Strikes - Click on past this, the remix is top 15 Mins After The Hour - I dont really know how to comment on this! Its just arrnaged a bit poorly Love To Love You (Remix) - BIt strange for a remix to come on before the original but when you listen to it you can tell why. Loved by the radio stations and the djs for its dark beats, the track takes you on a head bopping ride. Glorious. Features Shaunta Mongomery and Playa Love To Love You - Completly different from the remix, again feature Playa but the background takes more of a latin slant and looks to get people doing some salsa. Nowhere near the remix Smoke In The Air - What a great chorus this is has. Performed by Playa. Its worth battling your way through cartoon Magoo to get yourself to it. Observing My Style - Just weird, lost me there Written Rhymes - Again not wonderful but some are are bit wayward on this album Deep In Your Memory - Same as the previous two, at this point i start to wonder if its all downhill from here. Clock Strikes - Saved. Quality. Sample of knightrider is always gonna be a hit! I think its better than Busta Rhymes 'Fire It Up' but it was never released. It should have been a massive club hit but i dont think anybody knew about it! Man Undercover - Ok we've slowed it down a bit now and its a nice change of pace. The track features Aaliyah singing mainly with Missy Elliott helping out, its basically an Aaliyah track and a good one at that, its gonna be a good end to the album Joy - performed by Ginuwine and Playa this is a top track. Again slow in tempo but hits all the right notes. Up Jumps the Boogie (Remix) - Average end to an album that has no middle. Its up and down, experimental and engaging.
For the price it is probably worth it, i got mine imported over 10 years ago! Live the dream.
Advantages: Great production Disadvantages: Inconsistent
?WelcomeToourWorld? dropped in 1997 and was the first album of three to combine the talents of the producer Timbaland and the MC Magoo, known collectively as Timbaland & Magoo. On the album you have many of the typical names in Ginuwine, Missy Elliot and Aaliyah all stepping up to aid them with this record.
1. ?Beep Beep? (Intro)
2. ?Feel It?
To get the proper stuff going, this one opens the recording up and it has you being introduces to the crew who are working with the pair as the roster of Blackout Records is basically described and explained to us and you get an opportunity to work out Magoo?s unique way of flowing, as it really isn?t like anything you would have heard before (and this isn?t always a good thing).
**Three Stars**
3. ?Up Jumps The Boogie?
This was one of the biggest singles to come from the album, and it ...

Personnel includes: Timbaland, Magoo, Aaliyah, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot, Ginuwine, Smokey, Black, Love Jon, Shaunta Montgomery, Static, St. Nick, DJ Law, Buddha Brother, Big B (vocals). Recorded at Mastersound Studios, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Studio 54, Los Angeles, California; Manhattan Center Studios, New York, New York. With their debut album, Timbaland and Magoo invite listeners to experience a new sound: hype new school lyrics laid over funky new beats. Correctly titled, WELCOME TO OUR WORLD invites the listener to enter into a kaleidoscopic landscape of sound that combines the production talent of Timbaland with the lyrical skills of Magoo. In the name of variety, there are guest artists aplenty to be found on WELCOME TO OUR WORLD, and they all arive with an impressive pedigree; Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, and Ginuwine all chip in here. This stuff dominates urban radio for a reason.
Album Reviews
The Source (12/97, p.194) - "...Timbaland and his partner Magoo engage in a no-frills bout of lyrical Ping-Pong with the mic, surprisingly, landing on Timbaland's side of the net more often....With elementary rhymes and simplistic vocal deliveries in abundance..." Spin (1/98, p.111) - 8 (out of 10) - "...Tim takes a magnifying glass and articulates syncopation--his kick drums stutter-step twice when you're expecting once, the hi-hats jungle-swing all over your new-jack stiffness, the rubber band never stops snapping, and a hottie vocalist oozes over the whole mess. It's Robot vs. Wild Thing, and a good fight it is..." Entertainment Weekly (1/9/98, p.71) - "Lyrically, this producer/rapper duo doesn't add anything new to the hip-hop canon....They bring the beats like nobody's business, however, laying it on slow and thick as molasses..." - Rating: B
