Advantages: Portable, new songs Disadvantages: Awkward to press all the buttons, bruises your hand!
...Being an avid fan of the previous GuitarHero games, my name was one of the first on the pre-order list. My little bundle of joy arrived through my letter box yesterday morning (the day after the release date) delivered from HMV.com with free delivery, totalling £26.99 (with student discount).
In the box, you get the add-on part with the coloured buttons that you insert into the GameBoy Advance slot on your DS, a seperate attachement that you have to use if you are using an old style DS, a plectrum stylus, the game catridge, a game case, two sticker sheets and the instructions - though don't ask me what they say, I figured I would work everything out along the way.
The add-on part comes with an adjustable velcro strap so that every size of hand will fit. When you have connected it to the DS, put the game in and turned on the DS...

Advantages: Gameplay now on a par with the Rock Band series. Excellent feature set on the Wii. Disadvantages: Very expensive if you've not already got the instruments. Some songs are a bit obscure.

Happily, it's mostly succeeded. To the uninitiated, GuitarHero works by showing a stream of notes coming towards you on the display. With a nod to Rock Band 2's no-fail mode, there's an especially easy beginner mode that'll make sure you get through regardless.
Drums and vocals work in a similar fashion; you've just got to hit the pads and get the timing and pitch right respectively. It works a hell of a lot better here than it does with World Tour; even a die hard Rock Band aficionado should have no trouble moving over to this game.
Better still, the game will now...

Advantages: Great graphics, can use your xbox avatar, great songs, Disadvantages: Sore hands when you play it for hours and hours
...I've been a fan of GuitarHero for a while now, so when I heard they were releasing a new one I couldn't wait for it to come out. I did however have a few doubts after buying GuitarHero Hits, because I didn't find this game the best, but last week I went ahead and bought 5. I am glad I did as it really is a great game for all ages.
The biggest difference with this one is that you can now play as your xbox avatar. I think this is a great idea, because when you play it with your friends and on live it shows more personality instead of being the same character as other people. Although it does still let you pick characters from previous guitarheroes and customize the clothes.
Another advantage is it lets you import your world tour downloadable content straight into the game. As well as creating and mixing your own songs to play, in...
