Advantages: Able to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Disadvantages: Some companies are better value than others.
If anyone is thinking of visiting Tenerife then this trip is a must. I have been four times now with various companies and I would advise anyone to go. Tenerife has temperate waters, which are home to Pilot Whales (and sometimes Sperm Whales) and dolphins (particularly Bottlenose Dolphins). There are a variety of boat trips leaving from Puerto Colon (10 minutes from Playa De Las Americas) and Los Gigantes and they include catamaran trips and sailing ships.
The trips range from 2-5 hours and usually include soft drinks and beer and a sandwich, paella or buffet. They are also priced accordingly. The cheapest I found was Bonnadea leaving from Puerto Colon at 22Euros, but to be honest, I was very disappointed with their trip. The most popular price seems to start at 44Euros. The boat usually leaves the harbour and heads out to sea ...
Advantages: Some great bouncy pop-rock tunes Disadvantages: Not good for the fans, thanks to EMI not caring
Early 2001 was a dark time for fans of British rock. Terrorvision, the self-proclaimed "best band from Bradford starting with a T" announced that they were to split up later in the year, following a farewell tour and the release of a Greatest Hits album. In real terms, what this means is that the inlay card is badly designed and doesn't give an overview of the band's career, written by a music journalist, as does nearly every other "Greatest Hits ...
Advantages: Great to read aloud Disadvantages: Small writing, so for slightly older children
Having loved books when I was a child, I am determined to get my son into reading also. Okay, so he's only 4 months old, but I already have quite a collection of books for him to grow into.
The Gruffalo was one of my first purchases, then on the back of this I bought 'The Snail and the Whale', which is also written by Julia Donaldson & illustrated by Axel Scheffler. I had heard good reviews about the book, but what really swayed me was finding the book in a half price closing down sale at my local bookstore.
I bought the boardbook version (RRP £5.99, mine for £2.99). It's 32 'pages' long if you count both sides & include the covers (or 16 'boards' if you prefer). The illustrations grab your attention immediately. The detail & colours are wonderful. Perhaps not colourful enough for a young baby, but my son seems mesmerised ...
