If I Were a Grown Up.............

Advantages: Simple text with bold colourful illustrations.
Disadvantages: Care needed with small children as it could easily be ripped and spoilt.

lions and the ballet dancer becomes under water and the vet pictured with a cat and dog changes to a monster. This book is very cleverly thought out. The text is very simple and features on the left hand side. The words ? If I were a grown up I would like to be a ???? are featured with each drawing on the left hand side so there is a lot of repetition for youngsters to learn and recognise. The book finishes with the six occupations with the question ? What would you like to be?" My grandchildren enjoy reading this book my granddaughter who is 3 years old knows the words by heart but I have to watch my grandson with the book as he rather clumsily turns the pages and has in the past ripped pages and I think with one of the pages being smaller than the others he would struggle to turn it and miss it out altogether - either that or he would ...

There's a What in Where?

Advantages: Fun, easy to read Dr Seuss Book
Disadvantages: None

There's A Wocket in my Pocket is a wonderful book from Dr Seuss. It is a yellow back book which is designed for young reader. The cover of the book is yellow with a fun picture of a boy with a funny looking green creature sticking out of his back pocket. It has a bright red border around the outside. The back cover of the book is also yellow and has a list of other books available in the yellow back collection. Not sure what the picture is which Ciao have posted but it is definately not a picture of this book so please ignore it. The story starts by asking if you ever had a feeling there was a wasket in your basket, or a nureau in your bureau? The story then goes on to move around the house with the boy and showing other rooms with funny legs or creatures hiding in place. Through out the book there is a rhyming theme and the name ...

Toy Story Woody Action Figure

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Delicate

Okay my wee boy loves this toy and its a brilliant (although small) action figure that he has placed in his collection with pride. The character is more of a characiture of Woody. My one worry is that the toy itself is a little flimbsy and delecate. I think i paid £6.99 for this and i suppose it was worth the money. The item has plenty of colours and is reasonably true to the movie character. The Hat comes off but i would say that the boots look uncharacteristically big and are not in proportion to the rest of the action figure. I honestly think there are better Woody toys out there and i would recommend shopping around for a similar or better item from the seemingly massive toy story collection ...
