Advantages: she's not a one trick pony! Disadvantages: a little too commercial for me!
...Morrison's these are the days and The Carpenters - Rainy Days and Mondays. Other tracks worth the effort are..."if not you", "burn", "saturday night", "angelene" and "these are the days".
i think the one thing i can't get passed is that she seems a little manufactured to me! Her image, some of the songs! You only have to look at the picture of her in the black and white cowboy hat on the inlay to kind of see where i am coming from. You might want to turn down the treble on your stereo when you listen to this cd as it can be a little tinny due to the snares and the odd tambourine in there. To me, it is an attempt to get a good singer into the charts with not so great, but commercial tunes.
It's not the worst country cd i have ever heard....that prize so far goes to KellyWillis - whatideserve! I think it is a good one for people who don...

Advantages: VALUE FOR MONEY, brilliant tracks, pure quality Disadvantages: none
...I chose to buy this album as I liked his released singles "Satisfy You" and "Best Friend".The tracks, inlay, design, sound quality are all pure quality.Puff Daddy is brilliant, and anyone who says anything different doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. The book you get with it is really thick (32 pages infact) full of brilliant quality pictures and information about each track. I've definately got my moneys worth ut of this CD. The album was quite expensive but it was definately worth it. And a lot of his tracks feature other rappers and singers such as R-Kelly, Jay Z, Kelly Price, Carl Thomas, Lil Kim, Busta Rhymes and even the Notorious "B.I.G". Puffy should be proud of this album as he also produced it. This album includes some singles he's released includuing "Satisfy You", "P.E 2000", and "Best Friend". He realy deserved...

Advantages: Pop music with a soul edge, which makes a nice change Disadvantages: Too many ballads
.... Perhaps the easiest comparison to be drawn would be with Billie Piper, as both are from the South West of England; Piper from Wiltshire, Stone from Devon, although she was born in my native county of Kent. But this is a mistake you won't make for long. Only as long as it takes for you to listen to her debut CD, "The Soul Sessions".
The album opens with "The Chokin' Kind", a cover of a Joe Simon song. It opens much like any pop ballad and it's not until the instruments come in that you realise this is a blues/soul track. It's a nicely laid back song, perfect to have on in the background, although there's not a lot to differentiate Joss Stone from anyone else from someone like Kelly Clarkson on this track.
The next track is the one that I first heard and which still remains my favourite, Stone's version of Willie Garner's "Super Duper Love (Are...
