Advantages: Brillant stuff Disadvantages: one or two lacking tracks
Evanescence:The OpenDoor
Evanescence a well know heavy metal'gothic' band (Although I wouldn't put the gothic in there') First released their debut album 'Fallen' in 2003 and followed that up with their live DVD 'Anywhere But Home' in 2004. In 2006 with Wind-UP Records they released this album 'The OpenDoor.'
In my oppinion it is a great album, although I do prefer their previous album 'Fallen'.
Their tracks 'Lithium' and 'Call Me When You're Sober' both have Music video's which are to a great standard.

to give my thoughts on this CD.
**Cover and Packaging**
This is one aspect of the album that really stands out. The cover is beautiful, with Amy Lee in a flowing dress standing by an opendoor. The CD doesn't come in a plastic case - it's one of those that's sort of a shiny cardboard, with a plastic inlay for the disk to rest in. On the inside of the cover, there's an attached booklet, with information, lyrics and glossy photo's. The booklet has a classic 'old' feeling to it, and I like the fact it's attached to the box - too often I lose these paper inlays.
The disk itself is a dark blue, with golden markings on it that look quite mystical. The packaging really fits with the feel of the music, and the 'look' Evanescence have.
**Tracks**
1. Sweet Sacrifice
2. Call Me When You're Sober
3. Weight of the World
4. Lithium

DoorsOpen - Ian Rankin
Before I talk about the book ?DoorsOpen? written by Ian Rankin let me tell you a little story of my own.
Many years ago I was the chief cashier in a branch of a high street bank. It was a small branch with a low foot flow of customers. However, it was in the very wealthy Belgravia area of London so what customers we did have were of the well heeled variety, premiership footballers and senior politicians were regulars. Even if they weren?t famous many of our customers were titled and came from famous families. These customers requested a lot of cash over the counter so we would hold rather more in our safe than similar sized branches elsewhere. Most weeks this would be around two to three hundred thousand pounds, at busy times it could reach perhaps three quarters of a million pounds.
The money was held ...
