6 years on from its original release in '95 this album is still as good as it was back then and is still a regular in my CD player. Its a classic. (whats the Story) Morning Glory? came out at the hight of the brit pop craze of the mid nineties and to me is the album that defines the times. Its undoubtedly Oasis' number one album with only 'Definately Maybe' coming close.
The album shows the Gallagher brothers music writing and performing off to its best. The songs are filled with excellent guitar riffs and solos backed with excellent, well thought out, lyrics. The songs clearly take a big influce from the work of the Beatles and john Lennon with 'Dont Look Bakc In Anger' taking its opening basically from Lennons classic 'Imagine'. But this is no critism of the album with every song being good enough to be a single and with the totally brilliant 'She's electric' and the classic ballard 'Champagne Supernova' this album will 'Live Forever' (oh wrong album sorry). its still brilliant though
