If I were only allowed to keep one album from the nineties “What’s the Story Morning Glory” would most probably take this title. The much anticipated album arrived in late September after a fierce summer battle between indie rivals Blur and Oasis, the launch of the album was closely followed by the release of the Wonderwall single in November
Hello, is a an upbeat opening song to the album, it reflects the mood of summer 1995, “its never going to be the same” a phrase which was dominating my teenage thoughts at this time.
Roll with it, many people have said this is one of the weaker tracks, but I feel it has justified it place on the album due to enduring and catchy lyrics combined with terrific guitar accompaniment.
Wonderwall, this is one of the catchiest tracks on the album, which obtained cult status with its oasis’s attempts to get the whole stadium singing their songs.
Don’t Look back in Anger, this is my second favourite track of the album, a classic tune which in my opinion, captured the moment of the time and will never be replaced
Hey now, another classic oasis tune that will never age, this is the kind of tune you will request on the radio in years to come, in a nostalgic look past at the nineties.
Some Might say, this track has similarities to the “ Definitely Maybe” album; again I feel this is either a car or a radio tune.
Cast no Shadow, a truly different track provoking many reactions, especially from the media hype surrounding Richard Ashcroft.
My favourite song on this album has to be Champagne supernova, I really can’t put into words why I love this song, but to me it will always be a personal favourite
“As you are dragged inside on this trip abandon, you hear a council estate singing its heart out, you hear the clink of loose change that is never enough to buy what you need, boredom and poverty, hours spent with a burnt out guitar, dirty pubs and cracked pavements, violence and love all rolled into one, and now all this”

Advantages: The album has good songs and very interesting lyrics, also the album has an atractive cover. Disadvantages: This is not what you would usually expect from Oasis
