It was the year 1991 that Oasis originally formed as a band; in 1994 debut album 'Definitely Maybe' was released and in 1995 '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' followed. The '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album consists of twelve tracks and this therefore provides for 50 minutes of music. When it comes to Oasis albums you're absolutely spoilt for choice when picking a favourite; several of the bands releases are absolutely excellent, for me it is the '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album which just about has the edge however as it's just absolutely brilliant from start to finish and never here is there ever a dull moment. From opening track 'Hello' right through to closing anthem 'Champagne Supernova' the music is just absolutely exceptional and I fail to find any fault whatsoever with this incredible Britpop album from Oasis.

So 'Hello' is the track which opens the album, its chorus is taken from Gary Giltter's 'Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again' and it really does kick the album off in terrific style. The track provides an epic opening to the album and the borrowing of the Gary Glitter chorus really does work fantastically well within the music here. The track is energetic and truly does get the album off to the most magnificent of starts. 'Hello' is not the best track from this album; it's definitely a very good one however and in its place at the beginning of the release really does work well in gaining your interest and excitement for what the rest of the album may hold in store for you.

As the band progresses into second track 'Roll With It' the music is once more massively impressive. Liam Gallagher's vocals are absolutely excellent and Noel Gallagher's lead guitar talent also blows you away here. The track really does come together well and the chorus is absolutely excellent to sing along to. Once more this is not one of the album's better efforts, it doesn't really matter though as there's not a single filler track present on this album and every single one of them is mightily impressive to listen to. The track moves well and there's a great fluidity with which Oasis moves through this track both vocally and instrumentally also. It's a super piece of music and leads powerfully into next track 'Wonderwall'.

For me 'Wonderwall' is the first killer track from the '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album. Every time I listen to this one I can't help but sing along and every element of the music just seems to come together to absolute perfection. The chorus blows me away every time I hear it, it's a huge track and fittingly has been a massive commercial success also; it peaked at number two in the Official UK Charts and over the years more than a million copies of the track have been shifted in either single or download form. It's an excellent track and also marked the American Oasis breakthrough; it's the chorus that I find to be most impressive about this one, it's still not my favourite from the album however and in my opinion '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' has a lot more to offer than this as an album.

From 'Wonderwall' the album follows through into the track 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and once more another absolute highlight is provided by Oasis here. 'Don't Look Back in Anger' is one of my favourite Oasis tracks of all time; again it's the chorus that really gets me here and every note that is sung out here is just absolutely perfect. The guitar accompaniment is brilliant and the drumbeat also is absolutely exceptional throughout the track. It's a truly moving piece of music and I fail to think of many finer Oasis tracks than this one. It is after 'Don't Look Back in Anger' however that the albums weakest link enters in the form of 'Hey Now!'; it's not a bad track but for me it is the one that I enjoy listening to least from the album. I still like the track, I just prefer listening to all the others more. With 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger' having come beforehand the track therefore has a lot to live up to and for me it just doesn't possess anywhere near the same sort of quality as the two tracks that have come beforehand; that's not to say that 'Hey Now!' is a bad Oasis song, it's just that 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger' are so amazing that most tracks would therefore struggle to compete.

Between 'Hey Now!' and 'Some Might Say' is the first of two instrumental interludes. The instrumental skit breaks the album up nicely and the guitar work is here supremely strong. The untitled interlude track leads well into 'Some Might Say' and it is here that another absolute Oasis gem is provided. The guitar work is exceptional, the chorus phenomenal, and the way in which Liam Gallagher belts out the vocals here is just absolutely brilliant. Liam Gallagher's arrogance shines through strongly in his voice here, he's so self assured and this really comes across when he's singing; this adds to the appeal of the music and makes the track all the more exciting to listen to. It's a brilliant piece of music and the vocals are very much central to the success of the track here. Without the arrogance of Liam Gallagher then Oasis would just be another rock band from Manchester, with him however the band possesses something truly brilliant; the music really comes across all the more astoundingly due to the personality of Liam Gallagher and it is he that makes the music sound so special.

'Cast No Shadow' comes next and its instrumental simplicity really does work well for Oasis here. The track is quite laid back and really very relaxing to listen to; the vocals are cleanly sung out and there's a great positivity with which the music is played out by the band here. The track progresses smoothly, it's not the hardest hitting from the album but is perhaps one of the most moving pieces present here. 'Cast No Shadow' is a great track and it almost has the feeling of a closing number in its laid back nature and slower approach. The track stands out strongly when listening to the '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album and before the music has met its end you will find yourself singing along to this one without a shadow of a doubt.

Keeping with the slower pace the band then gets going with 'She's Electric', another laid back rock track which is absolutely excellent to sit back and unwind to. The music really does come across well here and at all times the track is just absolutely brilliant to listen to. The chorus is excellent as ever, the lyrics magnificent, and Liam Gallagher's supreme swagger continues to impress here. The track is an absolute masterpiece, it's an exquisite piece of music to listen to and it's hard to play this one without possessing a beaming smile throughout.

'Morning Glory' is up next and the snarled vocal tone of Liam Gallagher once more impresses massively here. In its opening a helicopter propeller can here be heard, this builds and the sound of the guitar joins it with the drumbeat kicking into action at a later point. It's not until the 52nd second that the vocals come in to play and it must be said that the vocals are most definitely well worth the wait here. The chorus is supremely strong and with only an interlude and a closing track to come the album is now sounding even bigger and better than ever. The track is just over five minutes in length and what a fine five minutes of music it is too. 'Morning Glory' is just absolutely brilliant and I love everything about it; the vocals are perfect, the guitar sound strong, and the drumbeat also provides the most magnificent backbone for the track. It's just an incredibly intelligently constructed piece of music and one of the best that Oasis has ever put to record as a band.

As 'Morning Glory' ends and the second instrumental interlude unfolds you begin to feel that no closing track can ever now live up to the absolute brilliance of the penultimate number; as 'Champagne Supernova' kicks into action however you begin to wish you'd never doubted Oasis as it must be said that this is the albums absolute crowning glory. 'Champagne Supernova' is my absolute favourite Oasis track of all time and every time I hear this one it stops me in my tracks entirely. At seven and a half minutes in length the track just absolutely flies by and I often find myself repeating this one when listening to the album. It's such a fine piece of music and really does work magnificently as the final track on this exceptional '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album. It brings the album to a perfect end and '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' therefore stands strong as one of my all time favourite albums. So many amazing tracks are included here, the band saved its best until last however and what a brilliant surprise it is to hear too; just when you feel that the band can do no better it goes and does so and 'Champagne Supernova' is sprung upon you. The lyrics are excellent, the vocals stunning, and the instrumental flow achieved here is just absolutely magnificent. It's my belief that 'Champagne Supernova' is the most amazing track that Oasis has ever written as a band; Oasis has written some incredible tracks over the years but for me it is this one that is the best of them all and by a large margin too.

'(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' is without doubt an album that I'd thoroughly recommend investing in if you haven't done so already. From start to finish the album is just absolutely excellent and although there are some tracks that are of course better than others; you won't find a single bad track present here. The album is packed full of excellent music to keep you totally entertained at all times and it really is very difficult to find fault with anything that Oasis does as a band here; the band fails to put a note wrong and that is why this is one of my all time favourite albums. Over a decade since the album's original release and I still love it just as much as I did back in 1995. Every time I listen to this album I smile and when I do listen to it there's not a single track that I ever skip past. Every track is well worth listening to and the band here saves the very best until last in the form of 'Champagne Supernova'. For me 'Champagne Supernova' is quite possibly the greatest closing track of all time and as one of my favourite songs ever it's just one of those tracks that shocks me with its brilliance each and every time I listen to it. Never do I tire of listening to 'Champagne Supernova' and never do I tire of listening to the '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album in fact; it's a timeless Britpop classic and one which every music lover of the world should most definitely own in their collection.

The '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album can currently be bought from Amazon.co.uk for the absolute bargain price of £3.98; well worth the investment if you ask me, and at that sort of price it is in fact an absolute steal.
