Children having to cope with struggling with their younger siblings are one of the any issues that certain children have to suffer in their childhood. Morris Gleitzman very cleverly gives us an insight of how it is to have the stress of homework along with the cooking and cleaning.
The novel is about a boy named Angus, Angus wants to be Bumface in his school play and like his mother Angus wants an acting career in the studios in life. He also dreams of being bold, brave, wild and free. He wants to be like the pirate in the stories he tells to his younger brother and sister each night when he tucks them in bed and it is because of his admirations for the pirate that much of what he does and thinks Angus tries to think like Bumface. I normally assess ease of assembly based on how many swear words my other half utters whilst trying to put something together, but this time he put it up whilst I was work so I missed out on all the fun! He did manage to put it together singlehanded and didn't make too much of a fuss about it afterwards so it can't have been too difficult. Once assembled, the trike seems pretty much like another trike marketed at this sort of age group. The only things that mark this out as a 'Thomas' trike are several stickers which need to be attached onto the frame and handle by the owner and a removable plastic plaque which clips onto the handlebars and features the familiar Thomas image and logo. My son?s main present of the ?in-laws? for Christmas is the product I will now try and review. The reason I am only just getting to grips with it is the poor little sod had to wait until his birthday for a television, this was so he could actually play with it!
