...P.O.D's album is not just their album with the incredible single 'alive', it is an album, with that amazing song, but also with 14 other magnificent songs all excellent in their own way. This album was produced by Howard Benson, co - produced by P.O.D and mixed by Chris Lord-Aige, all professionals in their respective fields. And by golly are P.O.D a 'professional' rock band, what an amazing collection of hauntingly powerful and rocking music. The first song on the album is 'set it off', and it does set the album off in an energetic and enthusiastically rigorous way. Next is the hit single alive which is one of those songs you will listen to, love, listen to 100 times until you are sick of it, then not listen to it for a few years and then you will hear it again and instantly love it again! ...Metal music is a diverse genre. However, listen to a lot of it, and you'll find that it consists mostly of large men with long, black hair, screaming about pain, anger and misery. However, P.O.D. have rubbed the black make-up off their faces, wiped the tears from their eyes, and have decided to shout about something a bit more cheerful. Unlike most metal albums, SATELLITE is geared towards the subject of life and energy, and it works well. The tracks are lively and feel like a breath of fresh air. Most of the guitar riffs are generally solid, although some leave more to be desired (a prime example is the opening track 'Set It Off'). The vocals from lead Sammy are strong and work well. ...P.O.D come from the States, they are a four piece group featuring band members of different music tastes. This shows up in the music, the music will go from a nice soul full track like Eternal (instrumental) along with the slightly stronger Find My Way, this song deals with trying to find yourself finding where you are. I would of preferred a more gentler backing music as it seems to over power the sensitivity of the lyrics. Astma is another note worthy song, the lyrics on this track are very discriptive and thought provoking. There is a range of musical influences in this cd, there is elements of reggae, rock, punk, intrumental, hardcore, rap. It is a cd for a range of taste but some songs have to be listened to for a few times to get used to it. The opening track has a hard hitter intro possibly designed to wake people up, but then...
