Advantages: Some fun, catchy tracks, he co-wrote some of the tracks
Disadvantages: Some tracks are a bit weak and unmemorable

...*Please note:-* I'm not sure that I can really think of much to say for this album compared to the group albums but I wanted to give it a shot and I may edit this review later, if I think of more to add but for now, here's what I've come up with:- - Introduction/Background Information - Now or Never is Nick Carters debut solo album. This was released in 2002, when many fans of the Backstreet Boys worried about what the future of the group may hold, with Nick going solo and the group postponing working on their next album, so there were those that were opposed to his album simply from the point of view that it might lead to them not releasing any more group material. Now or Never features a pop/rock sound, with some faster and some slower tracks. Nick made music videos to three tracks from this album, which are Help Me, Do I... Read review

Almost Makes Me Weep Inside

Advantages: ABBA hallmarks of affecting musical hooks, lyrics; sophisticated harmonies, musical structures; most mature work.
Disadvantages: This was ABBA's final studio album. Boo hoo. :(

...overdubbed on itself several times, it also evokes a thoughtful, melancholic lullaby. Another bonus track with Frida on lead vocal is ‘Should I Laugh or Cry’, which boasts an attractive arrangement that includes perhaps has the longest melodic line sung in harmony by both women here. On the light-hearted side, melodically speaking, there’s the wonderfully jaunty ‘Under Attack’ (one of the four bonus tracks on this 2001 remastered disc) with its glorious multilayered harmonies, whose lyrics nevertheless imply a conflict between a couple. It’s one of the few tracks with harmonized vocals of Agnetha and Frida singing the main melody. Then there’s the ‘throwaway’ song, ‘Two For the Price of One’, with Bjorn on lead vocal, and saved from mediocrity by more heavenly backing harmonies. Its outro... Read review

No Low Here
Review of Low [Remastered] - David Bowie by  No_name

Advantages: Everything, practically
Disadvantages: Not for every taste perhaps

...the sound. The vibes really keep the piece moving, even when they are couple and mirrored by an electronic beat. When distant guitar stridently echoes beyond and ululating klaxons whistle around the edges it is the vibes that keep the rhythm together, that holds the music in place. There is something truly wonderful about Weeping Wall that defies description. It hasn’t the darkness of Warszawa, if anything there is a curious, studied lightness to it, a gentleness that belies the intelligence behind its construction. It is easier to listen t, I find, than the other instrumentals and perhaps has a little more going for it as it is more obviously listenable to, less minimal. Weeping Wall is the third and final hidden gem to be found within Low. Finally Bowie and Eno leave us with Subterraneans. The shimmering synthesizer that runs through... Read review
