The Circus ? Take That
Who are they ? Take That are a band, made up of four guys from Manchester, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen. They first came out in the early 90?s and I have to say that I was a fan then and am still a fan now. I do think it?s funny when I see the kids now who have only known them as a new band and feel priveledged to know that I liked them first time around too.
Take That are now the most successful boyband to have reunited in history and are the best selling UK live pop act in history. I am not a crazed fan, I never cried when they broke up or never really had their t-shirts, posters on my wall etc but I do think they are a great, fun band. I saw them live about two years ago and I have to say it was one of the best concerts I have been to. They just looked like they were having ...
Advantages: The more 'band' vibe + the normal catchy lyrics and beat! Disadvantages: a odd 'not as good' song...but very few faults!
I went to see Take That Concert The Circus and it was beautiful, truly amazing.
The album contained many fabulous songs with romantic songs but my favourites are the greatest day, hold up a light, Julie...Well most
All contain a catchy melody, easily remembered lyrics which up lift you and allow you to escape to the circus. The fact that all members contribute to writing, singing (and performing in the concert) its not just all 'the big man' Gary Barlow who is A LEGEND but is not only influence withing this album which i adore!
The boys really did pull it off once again! The individuality is made more clear than ever before, its no longer the lovely gary barlow + hot backing vocals.....
ITS TAKE THAT....
The boys are most definatley BACK FOR GOOD :) ...
Advantages: If U Seek Amy, Unusual You, Blur Disadvantages: Out From Under, Mmm Papi, Mannequin
understand why Britney named the album what she did, but this namesake doesn't seem to have much of a purpose except to imagine Britney pacing around infront of a circus audience, playing the role of the ringleader. As I mentioned when I first heard the track, there are aspects of the song that are made for a club remix. I expect when this track is released as the second single, those remixes shall follow suit.
*03, OUT FROM UNDER (3.54) - 2 STARS
*I don't want to feel the pain. What good will it do me now?
Now we have been introduced to the album, it seems as though 'Out From Under' comes at exactly the right time to stop everyone drawing comparisons between this album and her 2007 effort. This ballad stops any momentum the album was building in the dance genre, although unfortunately it also reminds us just how much of an average singer ...

Album Notes
Released in 1995, well over 30 years after Glasgow-born acoustic guitarist Bert Jansch set the British folk and blues scene aflame with his skilled playing and expressive vocals, WHEN THE CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN shows that Jansch was arguably playing better than ever. Through numerous solo albums and a long partnership with fellow guitarist John Renbourn (which included several group albums as the Pentangle, with singer Jacqui McShee and bassist Danny Thompson), Jansch had added American country and jazz influences and a strong undercurrent of Indian and North African drones to his folk and blues-based music. All of these sounds intermingle throughout WHEN THE CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN, so that even a simple blues like "Honey, Don't You Understand" sounds more complex upon closer listening. A deeply satisfying album.
Album Reviews
Dirty Linen (4-5/96, p.55) - "...a blend of blues, early jazz, and English folk served up through a gruff, world-weary Glasgow voice, backed by the liquid guitar that has long made him one of the U.K.'s best acoustic instrumentalists..."
