Sharleen Spiteri heads Texas with her on vocals and guitar. Their first hit ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’ was a mixture of R&B and country folk, and their musical sound hasn’t really changed since then apart from a couple of soul and blues hits on the album ‘White on Blonde’.
Texas, formed in Scotland, did take a few years to get the proper recognition for their talent, and the songs on the featured album slowly turn towards the rock/soul vibe. Their main break was when Chris Evans began to constantly play their music on his radio show.
‘Say What You Want!’ , is a great song that has a mixture of soul and an element of pop, the album is good and the songs can eventually sound quite similar…. Sorry… but don’t be fooled, it’s a great album, and if you like a mixture of soft rock/guitar and soul/pop, then I’m sure you would like this album.
