What an amazing adventure this cd is.!!! Everyone knows the childhood favourite film that is regularly shown on tv. but not everyone realises that there is so much more to learn about this musical story. How Glinda started off and how the Wicked Witch came to be wicked. All this happens long before Dorothy drops in, two very different witches meet in the Land of Oz. at Witches School. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and extremely misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very 'popular'. {Hence one of the best songs in the Show }. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding, entertaining and unusual new musical in years. WICKED the cd, features the excellent music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz .This is simply a terrific recording offering some superb performances especially from Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. The score is highly amusing, entertaining and yet also dark and mysterious just like the story itself. Having seen it several times on stage this recording immediately takes you on a great journey with a wonderful score and excellent vocals. Defying Gravity is a phenomenal Finale Act One. What a voice - such power and clarity. A real must have for all theatrical buffs everywhere. Highly recommended with song lyrics and some brilliant photos of the show too. Buy it and go see it !!!!!

Sorry for the low rating but you haven't really told us what is on it. Give us an example of some of the songs and what they sound like. I suggest you read around other reviews (especially music) and this will help. If you edit this let me know via my guestbook and I'll come back and re-read it
