Well, where do you start with a McIntosh?
Build quality, I guess. Bomb-proof is probably the best way of putting it! Built like a tank would be another way. Yes 'Mac's' are very solid and reliability is second to none.
Looks, well beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder with this one. You either love it loath it.
In use, the Mac is simple. All the main controls are on the front and disc level functions are all available from the slightly tacky (somewhat cheap feeling) remote.
It has all the sound and video outputs you could need - it only plays standard (not Hi-Def) DVD's so no HDMI video output is necessary.
