There is hardly a track which reflects Shania's Country roots musically, yet the lyrics do have something left of the hallmark of Country - the personal storyline, especially the 'Half Breed' track, - more on that later

Here are just a few notes on the tracks, ... ...critical!
: Wild and wicked : -
A great blend of emotions, merging the soft, sweet and innocent with the raw, earthy and sensual - the singer has reached the point of no return, and belts out the longing for love.
: Send it with love:-
Slow song with lots of feeling - the pain of separation and aloneness - that just asks for the 'word' sent with love, and she'll be there! - Aaah
Well readers, here we are with another Shania album, this time CD not DVD. No excuses for not going out and buying it, of the type that starts : " I like my music pure - not adulterated by visual images and similar distractions!" - although this particular CD is supposed to have a picture track somewhere.! - I have not managed to find it yet.
1Overall Viewpoint "%"%"%"%"%"%"%
As I have suggested elsewhere, the world is ill-divided - those who enjoy Shania and those who do not. I expect that this CD will not transform any of that anti-Shania prejudice, and followers will have to endure the rejection and scorn that has dogged us for so long. Most Shania followers will enjoy the further move from traditional country and western tempo to something more trendy and modern in feel - this album should probably be filed as Rock rather than Folk and Country.
Shania defamers will probably not be won over by this album, but may have to acknowledge that it is not sugarly sweet and has some great qualities... at least worth listening to, if not buying.!

Here are just a few notes on the tracks, as I see them.
: Bite my lip - Fast moving song as singer faces being stood up and has to 'bite her lip and watch what she says'. For some of us, the scenario is not credible - who would stand her up ! - and as a song, I felt it wasn't a really big start to the album. It's actually the shortest, too. I prefer an opener that really sets the whole album up... better bite my lip before I sound too critical!

: Send it with love:- Slow song with lots of feeling - the pain of separation and aloneness - that just asks for the 'word' sent with love, and she'll be there! - Aaah
: Don't give me that once over :- Pop in tempo and substance - just a good foot-tapping song
: Hate to love :- Quiet start in the waves, looking for peace of mind - trying to find reality in a dream - classic Shania ballad approach - reaching a crescendo - declaring that she needs someone like me! Brilliant - couild listen to this track all day !
: Luv eyes : How do you tell the guy who is a good mate and has a girl of his own, that you really have LUV eyes for him!? - just sing this song - he'll probably get the message! - and if that isn't you, you can always line-dance to this one - its the nearest to C&W you'll find here.
: I lost my heart : Kiss me all over is all I can say - I've waited a life time to feel this way - you leave me breathless and out of my mind - ( her words not mine) - as the singer gives us a very expressive love song.
: The Rythm made me do it :- Shania's driving again - the wind is in her face - speed is excessive and the officer pulls her over - Excuse ? - 'The Rythm made me do it' - it might work for her, but it won't impress the speed cameras in our country much!
: Two hearts, one mind :- Another love song that tells the value of two contrasting people being in love - interesting lyrics - but I don't think the music quite works!
: Half Breed :- Al Capps and Mary Dean are responsible for this track about the 'half breed' who is part Cherokee Indian. There is a powerful representation here of the rejection, prejudice and pain of being an outsider. But I found it hard to see how it really fits in with the rest of this album.
: For the love of him: The ordinary version and the dance mix are both included on the album, giving nearly 9 minutes worth of this song. Apparently, we men are a bit difficult to understand, lack confidence, forget to do what we are supposed to and need a bit of help to express how we really feel when we get home from work. So the ladies are encouraged here, to give us all the love they can give and make us their reason for living!! - who am I to disagree.
4 Overall Reaction "&"&"&"&"&"&"&"&
Well here's me in hypercritical mode! And I may well get attacked from all sides. But that's what reviews are about. It has to do with my idea of what an album should be about.! - ( and I'm no musician! ). This album seems to be made up of a number of very good individual songs, which give a pretty good display of Shania's talents - wonderful, brilliant talents they are! But I like an album to feel like one whole collection - meshed together in music style, or lyric theme or something. It nearly has made it - why not take the wild and wicked songs here, add a few more with similar feel, and leave out the soft, the warm, the loving and the sentimental for a 'Tame and Angelic' album!
If a couple of brief criticisms have made you wonder if I am ready to give this album away, or sell it on ebay or amazon - the answer is NO.! - it is more than good enough to keep - more than good enough to rank as excellent - just not quite perfect.
