When the founder memory of Pink floyd Syd Barrett was betrayed by his bandmates and cut off from the bands success. No doubt the band felt as guilty as can be,could you honestly break a friend off from your love and friendship just for going crazy by taking drugs, sob it's such a tragic story.Roger Waters was the hero not Gilmour, who replaced Syd,he took the band through the dak ages to the light at the end of the tunnel,as soon as DSOTM was released which remained in the US charts longer than any other album in history, the band became the most beutiful british band in existence and broke virtually every record in the musical world, the Floyd are the music band who have toured the most ever believe it or not.

What followed as a result of the success of DSOTM was quite simply a new found wealth of musical brilliance and a new age of psychadelia. The 5 track concept albums were produced including animals and of course wish you were here which followed the success of DSOTM.Maybe after the huge success the band felt guilt and regret but when they decided to dedicate an album to the wonderful magical Syd Barrett this absolutely beutiful work of art was unexpected.Pure love, heart and soul was put into this album not the search for popularity and sales ,this is what makes this album so unique to the musical world nothing but love was poured out of those trumpets, guitars, keyboards and lyrics.

The album wish you were here is a stunning work of art that belongs in a museum. The sound effects mixed with stunning bass melodies mixed with pouring guitar strums brings you up and up into heaven. The experimental voice of Waters ever so slightly higher yet soothingly deeper has such a divine feel it's simply psychadelic wizerdry.

The album contains a brilliantly stunning cover, sob just the cover alone makes you want to weep for Syd,the albums booklet contains all lyrics and stunning band pics hehe one of Gilmour and Waters hugging gasp what a rare site, see what love can do, it bought the best out of this band, pure love went into this album and it shows, hope you enjoy it as much as i have!

Clever talent has made each song a psychadelic trinket of treasures that are so dazzlingly bright you cannot focus you can only accept it,nothing will blow you away into a world of peace, love and psychadelia like this album. The guitar strums of Gilmour on welcome to the machine lift higher and higher and higher constantly building up synthesesised psychadelic magic, the wizerdry of the songs climaxes as a result loses your mind in the world of mystery and excitement.

Shine on you crazy diamond is regarded by most to be Floyds greatest song, voted by Mojo magazine to be Gilmours greatest guitar work.It is so soothingly beutiful it is mind numbing.I feel as if i'm lying under an oak tree in a secluded field gazing up at the stars and clouds.Imagination,is the key to unlock the magic of this song. The song starts simply with intensifying deep sound effects blended into a haze of weird and wonderful melodys which also intensify to form a magical relaxed mood,do not forget that this was made by love these instuments are being intensified with joy and love in loving memory of a dear and lost friend. Then Gilmours stunning guitar softens the mood with fantastic breathtaking guitar solos,he is using his guitar to shoot out bolts of electricity to numb the mind and for it to reach nirvana. Here it comes the greatest climax in musical history, the guitar melody utters cry's of pain and love as if Syd were there himself. This continues untill Masons drumming soothingly intensifies into a magical possesive climax of crashing symbols and crazy guitar solos backed up with Wrights soothing, consistent sound effects and wizerdry keyboarding, are these men alchemists but instead of turning lead into gold they turn love into beutiful, strikingly georgous music. The trumpets start blowing into the haze of magical mix of music as if it were blowing the lid off a jar of magic.Waters deep, soothing vocals come into the mix as the tempo slows down 'Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun', mixed with haunting laughs, short but sweet guitar melody's intensifying vocals. The magic of the lyrics are superb 'you martyr, you legend, you prisoner' sigh this is tearjerking, mind numbing brilliance ,this song is the key to unlock your imagination and open your mind into the world of Psychadelic Floyderesque magic!!

Welcome to the machine starts off with haunting, possesive sound effects and constant drumming of machines, the dummong and droning of Waters bass guitar set the mood combined with guitar strums and psychadelic sound effects, this song makes you feels as if you've been strapped into a huge cold metal machine and you have to use your imagination to work it and control it.There are many a consistent Psychadelic synthesising space rock melody's,combined with lost screams of Barrett created by the atmosphere and possesive sound of Waters soothing voice. The song is carried along perfectly by a wide array of stunning sound effects carried by the constant acoustic guitar strumming which split into magical melody's as if a river was forking out into a delta as it reaches the sea, unleashing huge wads of magical energy.

Have a cigar is a comical response by Waters to the modern corrupt world some of us see ,the distant echoes of drumming and psychadelic space rock sympthonies blend together a roller coaster for the lyrics to ride which reach stunning ups and plunging downs, the tempo is so smoothly inconsistent it feels as if you are doing just that.'oh by the way ,which ones pink?' a comical example of the lyrics which are sung to painful intensity, the guitar solo is stunning acting as a huge push to speed this roller coaster down the tracks of musical magic, this song is carried on magic to another world, free your mind!

Wish you were here is the guitar melody you will love to hate,it feels like an acoustic, personal song and that's what it is.Just Roger Waters with an acoustic guitar pouring out his love for his bandmate as if each strum of the guitar was Syd crying for help, sob very moving, and sung to perfection.'How i wish you were here, were just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl'just an example of the beutiful lyrics to a friend sigh the love put into this song is so intense you can feel as if your part of it.If any of you own an acoustic guitar please get the tab and learn it as i have done it is so moving and enjoyable to play to yourself or a close companion,a stunning tribute to poor old magician Syd Barrett,we love you Syd!

The closing track is a bit messy and lacks rythym at times but remains a stunning closingtrack, sychadelic sound effects, tons of climaxes, lost guitar melody's,haunting moods this is pure beuty split into sections for each feeling, anger ,betrayal, regret and love, sob what a haunting mood you could quite literally cut the tension with a knife. The song builds up to part of the openng track like DSOTM did with breathe and time, it is very clever and ingeniously devised 'come on you miner for truth and delusion',sob this is so stunning i hope you like i Syd you musical magician!!!
