Advantages: It's Bill Bailey and there are some classic tracks such as Insect Nation

Unisex Chip Shop (Tribute to Billy Bragg) is an upbeat track on the guitar, but is followed by Richard Clayderman Plays Three Blind Mice, which is Bill playing playing Three Blind Mice in the style of Richard Clayderman (a French pianist). Medieval Porn is ok, quite random really (a bloke comes to repair the harpsichord), as is Dr Qui a jazzy number, and even with my rudimentary French I get the gist. In Classical Cockney Bill demonstrates how cockney music gets into Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata amongst other classical pieces….this is really funny on the DVD, but not great on CD. Tom Waits Plays Three Blind Mice follows and this is just irritating. Apparently Tom Waits is an American singer-songwriter/actor. For those who have read... Read review

Advantages: A strong solo album
Disadvantages: Cann`t think of any

...When i saw that Richard Ashcroft was bringing out an album i was in no doubt that it was going to be good since he was the main driving force behind the Verve. This is a very good album and it is not hard to notice that it is about his experiences post Verve. It is good to see that his talents are not wasted in this album. "Song for the lovers", "money to burn" and "C`mon people making it now" are the obvious top tracks in this album which is demonstrated by the single releases. "I get my Beat" and "Crazy world" are my particular favourites besides the main songs though all the songs are quality. As i say again i personally love this album and my faith in Richard Ashcroft has been firmly upheld. If you are a Verve fan or like the singles from the album then go out a buy it, you will not be disapointed.... Read review

...SO Richard Ashcroft is back . The question on everyones lips is can he surpass his history with The Verve ? Well yes he can . With a new all star band ( Pino Palladino - Bass , Bj Cole - Guitar , Peter Salisbury of The Verve on drums and Ashcrofts wife Kate on Keyboards ) and a handfull of tunes he's ready to start again . The Albums opener " A song for the lovers " is already a masterpiece and was well chosen as the lead off single . Other songs on the album are all based around a similair theme , Ashcrofts love for his wife Kate . So if your someone who's not a big fan of ballards or love songs , then don't buy this album . If on the other hand you are then this is the album for you 11 ways to say i love you . A masterpiece and an album i highly recommend .... Read review
