...saw your face 'O SOLE MIO Have always turned my nose up at opera... usually referring to it as "Belly ache music", but this album, songs familiar to me, performed in operatic style with a full orchestra behind it... fair brought tears to my eyes. More surprising for me though was the fact that my sons enjoy this album too. Why is that surprising? Because they are 16 and 13. I bought Tony Henry with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Modern Arias from HMV over here in the UK and I paid £16.99 If anything happened to this CD I would have no qualms about buying a replacement.... ...A few years ago I was in a local pub and this handsome barman caught my eye!During a short break from bartending he took to the floor and I couldn't believe the sound which was coming from him-the place was brought to a standstill and the hairs on the back of my kneck stood to attention.We all knew we would see this guy again. I have recently bought his album and am pleased to say those hairs were once again up on the back of my kneck.Playing this in the car,I was almost spellbound by the amazing voice of Tony Henry-beautiful modern and familiar songs accompanied by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra;She being a particular favourite of mine and the haunting First Time Ever I saw Your Face. Tony Henry deserves to be a star-I hope we hear a whole lot more of this beautiful voice.... Read review

Advantages: Very entertaining, and superbly engineered
Disadvantages: Some of the electronic effects are a little cheesy

...for the first time, computers were becoming an everyday reality (albeit the size of a small room!) and cinema audiences had been amazed by futuristic scenes of space travel and discovery in “2001 – A Space Odyssey”. Space was literally everywhere. Little wonder then that Keating was keen to express, through music, the excitement of space travel, and the rapid pace of technological change. ~ From “Z Cars” to Mussorgsky ~ John Keating was responsible for writing the theme tune to “Z Cars” back in the ‘sixties, and he has an impressive list of albums to his credit, including “Hits in Hi-Fi”, “Keating – Straight Ahead”, and “John Keating Conducts the Electronic Philharmonic Orchestra”, the latter being all-synthesizer interpretations of classical pieces...
