This album brings back old memories to me, it was the album that launched the career of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke. They were performing the songs from the albums in little unknown clubs in the 80's like the Mean Fiddler in London. The songs released from the album were "Who needs love like that" and "Oh L'amour" which was later ripped off by Dollar. This is a great mixture of poppy and synthesized erasure classic style songs. For die hard Erasure fans only - available on Mute Records 1986. My favourite is Love is a Loser which has lovely lyrics.
Advantages: Brought Erasure back to the forefront of UK pop Disadvantages: are you kidding !

Finally in February 2005 and after many a months delay ( it was due to be launched in October '04 ) , 'Nightbird' , Erasures 1st studio album in 4 years was finally unleashed upon an eager crowd .Also unleased at the same time was Andy's HIV status and news that Vince had finally wed ( in a registry office followed by fish & chip reception - who says all pop stars are pretentious ) .
Erasure's pop career can be likened to a hot air ballon , after a slow take off ( it took two years for 'Wonderland' to become a hit ) , a steady rise to reach the ( regular ) heady heights of No. 1 status in both album and singles charts during the late 80's , early 90's , followed by a steady decline in fan base and popularity . There has although always been the die hard fan base around to support them .In fact Erasure are the best ...
Advantages: One or Two good tracks Disadvantages: Tracks too Slow, nothing spectacular
such as Chorus or Cowboy, I have enclosed a list of their albums purely for information.

TRACK LIST
1. Piano Song [Instrumental]
The album begins with a nice bit of tinkling on the old piano with the syths accompanying. The album also ends with the same track but on the latter one Andy bell sings for the 'Grand Finalle'. It reminds me a bit on the theme tune to 'Twin peaks'. Short but sweet.
2. Blue Savannah
This was one of the singles off the album. I haven't a clue what is singing about. What is a 'Blue Savannah ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Wild - Erasure
Erasure: Andy Bell (vocals); Vince Clarke (various instruments). Originally, Erasure's first album was to have had a number of different singers, a conceit keyboardist-songwriter Vince Clarke had taken from his previous project, the Assembly. However, previously unknown singer Andy Bell was such a perfect foil for Clarke that he quickly became a full partner in the band. Breaking with the tradition of Clarke's earlier bands, Depeche Mode and Yaz, where Clarke had been the sole songwriter, Bell co-wrote most of WONDERLAND. The album is the template for the next several Erasure releases, matching the Hi-NRG dance of "Push Me Shove Me" to the quiet lyricism of "Oh L'Amour." Bell's lyrics betray a sense of emotional turmoil, especially on "Say What," that never becomes histrionic. The album contains two instant Erasure classics, "Who Needs Love Like That," and "My Heart...So Blue." In what would quickly become an Erasure tradition, the CD contains two bonus remixes.
