Dear readers

i have had this album when i heard of car boot soul, it was then i started tracking down all of nightmares on wax albums.

This album i will say is not bad, like myself if you hear car boot soul then anything of there stuff before this album i will say is not quite the same, unfortunetly in a bit of a bad way.

With the first album you do get some of the notes of nightmares on wax album as like seeing the foundations being laid with the first album. The album seems a bit more in to the street hiphop. as the second is more of a mellow triphop. like all the sweet sounding beats from the first album have been took out and put down as the foundation forcar boot soul.
If you have heard both albums you may see where i am comming from.

The track on this album is a bit like having to give it a chance you may like a few songs from this album but as you hear it more the other songs do tend to grow on you eventualy.

More indepth info on this Album:

Released hot on the heels of LFO's "Frequencies," Nightmares on Wax's debut LP was perhaps the first album on Warp Records to suggest the diversity of sounds for which the label would eventually be known. George Evelyn and Kevin Harper were British b-boys on a mission to cross-pollinate classic hip-hop with newer electronic sounds, and "A Word of Science" did just that. The duo's classic debut single, "Dextrous," was a bleepy dance track built on a see-saw synth line and skeletal beats, but "Aftermath," a minor UK hit when it was released as the follow-up, integrated stuttering soul vocals with honest-to-god breakbeats. The full-length continued this evolution, moving from the orchestral soul of "Nights Interlude" to the Emerald City disco of "A Case of Funk" and the D.A.I.S.Y. Age rap of "Mega Donutz." Downtempo experiments such as the Steve Miller-sampling "Back Into Time" sat confidently next to the dirty drum sounds and touch-tone tunes of "Biofeedback" and "Fun." All 15 tracks, no matter what genres they drew from, shared a recognizable kinship with the rest of the Warp posse and an irresistable sense of sampladelic adventure. Never released in America but still available from the label, "A Word of Science" connects the dots between the rap nation and the rave massive with as much style and humor as has ever been done.

I will say gofor this cd but i would proberly put this down as a third or forth item on the list.
