I Wanna Destroy the Passerby

Advantages: Punk roots still hold their own.
Disadvantages: Lacks any kind of originality or self-worth.

The most recent album from New York hardcore punks Agnostic Front continues to mix angry punk rock with shouty hardcore, and as but one of a seemingly endless number of similar-sounding albums having been released every year for the last couple of decades, it brings nothing new to the scene apart from some new material of Agnostic Front sounding like themselves. The whole album is based on fast, riff-heavy songs with multiple, moshable 'breakdowns' as a substitution for musical diversity, backed by relentless double bass drums in a clicking frenzy that again permits the drummer to avoid having to put any thought into what he's doing. But of course, this is still punk first and foremost; a genre that has no delusions of Rimsky-Korsakov. Review of Warriors - Agnostic Front

Only Patches Of The Qulit Work

Advantages: Lots of variety
Disadvantages: Don't quite master styles which they experiment with

said that I enjoyed lisnteing to Gym Class Heroes' Pop work, here they just take it too far, and when you are immediately annoyed by a song, you know its never going to work for you, and this is exactly how I felt when listening to this one. **One Star** 14. "Coming Clean" I liked the build-up in this one as it created a tense atmosphere with some big Hip hop beats and lots of little techniques which make it fit in with the trends of the genre today, however they undermine all the work they do in the verses by coming with a stupidly happy chorus which has the rift change into a Pop-Rock cut. **Three Stars** I was quite impressed by this release as I didn't really expect to get a lot out of this album which I could really say I enjoyed, however this wasn't the case at all. Review of Quilt, The [PA] - Gym Class Heroes

Gym Class Heroes - Papercuts!!!

Advantages: 15/18 tracks are amazing.
Disadvantages: A Couple of Poor Freestyling Tracks

Having never heard of Gym Class Heroes until i saw them support Fall Out Boy in 2005, i was plesently surprised. Far from the 'emo rock' genre i would associated with Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes offer a totally different type of music. I soon realised why they were picked up to support. Offering a much more hip-hop type genre, with clever rock/emo lyrics, Travis McCoy has got to be one of my favourite artists of current times. With some very catchy cheesy tunes on the album such as 'Cupids Chokehold', 'Taxi Driver' and 'Make Out Club'. All of which offer a witty, upbeat perspective of the hip-hop genre. There are also many much deeper songs. Some awesome slower songs and some great lyrics make some of my current fasvourite songs, 'Papercuts', 'Everyday's Forcast' and 'Faces in the Hall' This is the sort of album you can sit ...
