Long, Black Veil

Advantages: Great sound, very different, interesting guest singers
Disadvantages: Not a sound that everyone will find they like

...my all time favorite albums. Long Black Veil by the Chieftains is probably one of my top ten favorite’s albums of all time. Now, I will admit that it is not popular music, nor it is it for everyone. Many people would find it an odd choice. Irish music isn’t for everyone. Soothing lovely music

This Cd was recorded in 1997 not really that long ago it was the year that Hale Bop the comet was visible in Spain where Capercaile were resting after their Spanish tour. The sighting of Hale Bop influenced one of the tracks. ...is very restful with Karen’s beautiful voice, telling the story of a mother looking forward to her baby boy growing up and sailing to foreign countries bringing her exotic gifts, and her wish that tomorrow her hens will lay an egg for her son. The next track INEXILE about a love sick young woman separated from her love this is a slow track with a jaunty fiddle solo in it. Clannad At Its Best.

Advantages: Beautiful music.
Disadvantages: Not every tune is top class.

There are many spellbinding tunes, such as 'Skellig', 'Something to Believe In' and 'Almost Seems to Late to Turn'. These songs enrapture the soul and move one greatly with the soulful singing and powerful instrumentation.
