The most beautiful album on Earth
Review of Lullaby For The Moon (Japanese Music For Koto & Shakuhachi) - Various Artists by gantzgraf

Advantages: Pure, zen, beauty of cosmic proportions
Disadvantages: None

Pure Japanese Spirit. Lullaby for the Moon is a perfect compilation of ancient Japanese music. It is beyond perfect, as a matter of fact. There are no words to describe the atmosphere of this unique piece of work. Inzan Tanaka, Ichizan Hoshida, Osamu Shimizu, Sajura and Ensho Yamakawa seem to bind their work together on a level that has never been equalled in folklore. This album was released in 1997, although most of the tracks are several hundreds ...

By harmonizing the chords on the guitar with the traditional Brazilian Samba rhythm, Gilberto evolved Jobims' ...
...virtuous, but what really captures me is his voice. He sings with a "blown" quality as if he is blowing air from his gut, which produces an intimate close-to-the-microphone sound. It's possible to hear his lips smacking dryly during the pronounciation of certain words, and he has an excellent vocal amplitude, using mostly low-pitched but well chosen notes. This album is fun to compare to his other work, as over the years his performances have become ... Read review
