**TRACK 9 - World Of Our Own**
Another original Westlife track comes in the form of World of Our Own, which was in fact the featured in the Disney Channel movie 'You Wish!' The track itself has quite a unique sound although I can't quite place my finger on what causes it. The vocals themselves are strong from the start and the backing track quite fast-paced.
9/10
Westlife have always been one of my favourite bands. Now I know that this is not something that most 18 year-olds, or come to think of it most people, will easily admit to but it's the truth. Since sorting out my bedroom my CD collection has come to lodge on my desk system, where it should be, and so I can now easily see the CD's I have. This has dually led me to start re-playing some of my older albums and it is whilst doing this that I have decided to write reviews on my Westlife collection of CD's. Before I start however I thought I'd tell you a little about the band.
Westlife are an Irish pop band that was formed in 1998 with five members Shane, Bryan, Kian, Nicky and Mark. They were signed by Simon Cowell and are currently managed by Louis Walsh. Since their formation the bands music has greatly evolved and moved from teen pop to contempary adult music. In 2004 Bryan left the band to work on solo projects but despite rumours the rest of the band carried on performing and are still performing today. Together the boys have released nine albums, sold more than 40 million records worldwide and gained 14 number one singles in the UK Their albums are; Westlife, Coast to Coast, World of Our Own, Unbreakable, Turnaround, Allow us to be Frank, Face to Face, The Love Album, and Back Home. It is their third album World of Our Own that I will be reviewing today.
I am well aware whilst writing this review that Westlife's remakes of classic songs are their on stage 'moves' aren't always that popular with some people. But I must say that I personally find their albums very enjoyable, as they are easy to pick up and listen to and always in my opinion contain more brilliant songs than utterly disastrous ones.
Track list 1. Queen of My Heart 2. Bop Bop Baby 3. I Cry 4. Uptown Girl 5. Why Do I Love You 6. I Wanna Grow Old With You 7. When You're Looking Like That [Single Remix] 8. Evergreen 9. World of Our Own 10. To Be Loved 11. Drive 12. If Your Heart's Not In It 13. When you Come Around 14. Don't Say It's Too Late 15. Don't Let Me Go 16. Walk Away 17. Love Crime 18. Imaginary Diva 19. Angel
Since the format of my last review, reviewing each track in order, went down well I have decided that this is the format I will also use for this review, so get yourself comfortable because this could be a long one.
**TRACK 1 - Queen of My Heart** Queen of My Heart is an original Westlife song and is a nice slow ballad to open the album with. The vocals have a sort of gravely sound to them, which really suits the track. The vocals are of course solid from the start and the harmonies of the high quality we have come to associate with Westlife. The chorus also has a certain punch to it due to a steady drumbeat that plays throughout. Despite the success of the song the band themselves are said to have claimed that on looking back they would have changed their lead single song to Angel as this promoted the album better in their opinion. 8/10
**TRACK 2 - Bop Bop Baby** Bop Bop Baby is another original song, this time written by the boys themselves. The background music to this track is punchier than the last track with some decent piano tunes and a strong steady drumbeat. The song is technically another ballad but the tone of the vocals and the backing track gives the song a more up-tempo feel. The chorus is again relatively catchy and to be perfectly honest when the track was released most people knew the chorus at least. 8/10
**TRACK 3 - I Cry** I Cry has different sound to many other Westlife tracks and is definitely one of my favourites from the album. The opening music has a Spanish sort of feel but this moves, once the vocals begin, to a more steady drum beat and soft chords. The song is rather slow but the words are quite poignant at times and the way in which they are sung seems to suit both the track and the band very well. 9/10
**TRACK 4 - Uptown Girl** This is probably my favourite song from the album and was released W for Comic Relief in 2001. The video for the song featured Claudia Schiffer in the title role. The song hit number 1 in the charts and is currently the 21st best selling ingle of the 21st century. The track itself has a very up-beat feel; the tempo is quick and the music catchy, as are the lyrics. The vocals are as usual exceptionally sound and the style of the song in general seems to suit the bands overall feel. 10/10
**TRACK 5 - Why Do I Love You** Why Do I Love You sees the album return to a more ballad style. The background music is subtle yet effective to begin with but becomes punchier and faster paced as the song progresses. The vocals are strong as usual and the chorus catchy and when listened to properly makes a lot of people agree with what is being sung. 9/10
**TRACK 6 - I Wanna Grow Old With You** This track is another ballad and therefore much softer and slower than some of the previous tracks. Now there isn't anything particularly wrong with this song the harmonies are fantastic as usual and the general vocal sound nothing to complain about but it just isn't a song that I am particularly fond of. 6/10
**TRACK 7 - When you're Looking Like That [Single Remix]** This track was included on Westlife's 'Coast to Coast' album and was one of my favourites on that album. As you expect therefore it is one of my favourites on this album too. The track is fast paced and up-beat with strong vocal leads and harmonies that make the track stand out for the competition with ease. The story behind the song is also one the makes perfect sense and is told wonderfully by the band. 10/10
**TRACK 8 - Evergreen** Evergreen is another original track contained on the album however it is not Westlife that shot the song to fame but rather the cover version sung by Will Young when he won Pop Idol. Personally however I am more fond of the Westlife version, as to me they seem to sell the story behind the song much better. It is of course another ballad with a backing track that really allows the vocal talents of the band to shine through. 9/10
**TRACK 9 - World Of Our Own** Another original Westlife track comes in the form of World of Our Own, which was in fact the featured in the Disney Channel movie 'You Wish!' The track itself has quite a unique sound although I can't quite place my finger on what causes it. The vocals themselves are strong from the start and the backing track quite fast-paced. 9/10
**TRACK 10 - To Be Loved** To Be Loved is a more sombre ballad than some of the others on the album. The backing track is again subtle letting the vocals do the talking. The track on a whole is quite relaxing due to the softness of the vocals themselves. 8/10
**TRACK 11 - Drive** Drive is another ballad track in which backing music is simple and sometimes non-existent. This showcases the musical talent of the band and allows a story to be told with ease. The harmonies and vocals are as usual of the quality we have come to expect. 9/10
**TRACK 12 - If you're Heart's Not In It** The piano solo at the beginning of this track and the continued piano tune throughout add a different element to this ballad track. The harmonies on the chorus are beautiful and the chorus quite sentimental if you listen to it properly. The vocals throughout the verses are also solid but there is again something about this track that I'm not particularly fond. 7/10
**TRACK 13 - When You Come Around** This track is definitely more up-beat, quick paced and up-tempo than the last track. The beat is steady and the vocals constantly strong throughout. The switch between who is singing lead vocals in the track is also quite refreshing and gives the song an added boost. All in all this track is certainly one of the highlights of the album and certainly warrants more than one listening. 10/10
**TRACK 14 - Don't Say It's Too Late** A switch back to the better-known ballads can be seen here with a much softer track than the last. The sound of this track is quite similar to some of those from their first album. The sound is quite delicate and the vocals soft yet strong and meaningful mixed brilliant with some flawless harmonies. 8/10
**TRACK 15 - Don't Let Me Go** This track is another up-beat and fast paced track. This time the lead vocals do not come from Shane Filan and this gives the song a different feel that suits the tracks overall feel. The chorus is quite catchy and the entire track is pulled along by the interesting backing track. For some reason this track is another favourite of mine and this is probably due to its somewhat different sound. 9/10
**TRACK 16 - Walk Away** Like the previous song this track also has a different sound and feel to it but in my opinion it is not as successful. The vocals are again strong and not overpowered by the backing track but it just isn't for me. 7/10
**TRACK 17 - Love Crime** The opening to this track is quite soft but soon the tempo has been increased and the pace of the song being transformed. Ultimately the song is still a ballad but with a slightly different sound than some of the others on the album. 8/10
**TRACK 18 - Imaginary Diva** The opening music to this track is quite electronic and more modern sounding than some of Westlife's other backing tracks. The vocals themselves are also rather electronic sounding at times but this does on the whole suit the track. However I can't say that this song is one that I am fond of at all because I just don't think the style suits the band one bit. 4/10
**TRACK 19 - Angel** Angel is a brilliant ballad to end the album with. This track sees them return to their usual style of singing that perfectly suits their overall style. The vocals are delicate and poignant and the beautiful backing track amplifies this poignancy ten-fold. The vocals are strong and sound naturally brilliant and as usual the harmonies are of outstanding quality fully showcasing the bands talents. 10/10
TOTAL FOR ALL 19 TRACKS = 158/190
In conclusion this album is another brilliant one from these Irish charmers. I will admit that there are a couple of less brilliant tracks on this album than there have been on their other two albums but that does not detract from the fact that there are some wonderful tracks too and it is these wonderful tracks that make the album a pleasure to listen to.

Advantages: Such a gorgeous album Disadvantages: Hoe can there be anything?!?!?
This is the first Westlife Album i bought and boy is it good. The songs on the album have to be the best songs in the world, they are so sweet. The best one has to be the last one, number 19. It is a really quiet and slow ballad. And dont forget to continue to listen to find the hidden track at the end of the album. Not only is this album full of wonderful ballads, there are a few upbeat ones on there as well, their hit Uptown Girl is on there as ...

Advantages: Great Songs including some more upbeat than usual. Disadvantages: Some songs on this album drag a bit.
Westlife - World of ourown. An excellent album by the five Westlife lads:- Shane, Nicky, Kian, Brian and Mark. There are 19 tracks in total on the album. I'll go through them in a minute.
It's Westlife's third album and I'm sure they'll have many more to come. In my opinion, this is the best album they have released.
The songs on the album are:-
1. Queen of my heart - A good first track. It's a ballad which is a good start as you're straight away aware that their in fine voice on this album as the previous two were. Great music in this one. Not one of the best on the album but a great start.
2. Bop Bop Baby - You won't believe it!!!! This song is an slightly upbeat song - yeh, by Westlife!! lol!! It might be not like their normal but still in great voice. One of my favourites on this album. Definitley in my top five. You ...
Advantages: If you like the softer love songs or ballads you will love it Disadvantages: Unless you like love songs or ballads you will hate it
the main feel to their album so far.
6 - Evergreen
This Is a bit of a lighter song that will no doubt be popular with the radio stations as a good background sort of song, quite easy listening.
7 - World of ourown
The Title track but I do not think much of this song myself as It sounds like the standard sort of pop song with little emotion or beat to It, not the sort of song that you are likely to remember
8 - To be Loved
Yet another slow song singing about love but It has a slow sort of tune with only a few instruments and personally this lets the song down more than their singing it, this could have been a lot better with a strong accompanying tune.
9 - Drive
This song Is about being In a relationship again and how they are devoted to their love but It was not one that stirred me and I never thought much of It.
10 ...
Advantages: theres a good variety of songs Disadvantages: it wouldnt suit people who dont like pop music although its definatley not 'cheesy pop'
i am a massive westlife fan so as you can imagine i went straight out to buy this album, and i have both other albums to compare this to.
This album has a pleasant difference to the previous two albums without loosing their westlife sound,to start with the lads have wrote 7 of the 19 (20) tracks on it.It includes 4 top 5 hits,3 of them going to number 1 and also the massive hit evergreen which was pop idol will youngs debut single and a 'b' side on gareth gates debut single also.It also included 'when youre looking like that' and 'angel' which were shown on music channels such as 'the box'.
On the front it says it has '19 amazing new tracks' but it doesnt tell you that if you leave the album playing a while after its 'supposedly' finished there is a bonus track called 'bad girls' included on it,which is a very upbeat, happy song and one ...
