Status Quo were definitely the right act to open the concert, performing their best known single "Rocking all over the World". The title was very apt for the occasion and got the crowd warmed up nicely.
Probably the most talked about performance at the time, and possibly still today, is that of Queen. Live Aid was one of the last few stage performances that Freddie Mercury did before he became ill and passed away from Aids in 1991. Queen performed the longest set on stage and there was not a note off key.
A poignant moment was when Bob Geldof, performing with his Boomtown Rats, sang "I don't like Mondays". The crowd applauded when he sang the line "?and the lesson today is how to die".

After reviewing the Tom Cruise film yesterday I thought I should review what I think is the best version of War of the Worlds (bar the original novel of course).

~The Album~
Released in 1978 this album (if you don't know what an album is, ask your parents lol) tells the tale of a Martian invasion as told in H. G. Wells novel of the same name.
The album consists of two discs and came in its own plastic sleeve, complete with a book/booklet which details the story as it unfolds and full lyrics for all the songs. Inside a card box with pictures of some of the dominoes are 28 dominoes. There are enough dominoes for up to 4 children to play this game. Also included is an instruction sheet.
The dominoes are made of a very thick card, they are difficult to bend. The surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth if necessary.
