The album opens, for me, slower than what I expected. This isnt a bad thing however as the albums track listing is nothing short of impeccable. Whilst containing seminal singles 'Fix You' and 'Speed of Sound', it's the tracks around these that really bring the album into it's own. 'Square One' whilst a slow start builds fantastically and offers, in my opinion, a better opening than 'Politik' offered on 'A Rush of Blood....'. This is a truly magnificent album as every track peaksand troughs, shifting from sorrowful lyrics to some of the most uplifting music I've heard. It' a rarity to find an album of such quality, but each track can compete easily with any of the new indie bands entering the UK scene. Whilst past Coldplay albums have offered us such amazing singles, this album offers 12tracks that can compete with any band of recent times, a truly magnificent album.

A nice introduction to the album, with some nice comparisons to previous releases. To get higher ratings you should try to included more specific track detail, and perhaps some comment on the production and any other significant features of the album that woudl help a buyer be able to choose which Coldplay album to buy.

Review of X And Y - Coldplay
Advantages: Accoustic harmonies and easy to listen to songs.Sincere and heartfelt lyrics. A really nice album. Disadvantages: I didnt like it as much as X&Y or A Sudden Rush of Blood to the Head.
