...When reviewing games based on movies, it's always a good idea to picture an absolutely abysmal game, and then expect less. This way you wont be inevitably disappointed by the poor graphics, shallow gameplay and clunky controls. History has taught us, apart from a few exceptions, that movie tie-in games are generally rushed together and basically unfinished to meet the release date of the film. So when reviewing X-Men Origins: Wolverine I am at the bottom of the barrel, expecting the worst of the worst, because once again a game has been released to coincide with the movie release, and that spells bad news. But at the same time, I'm slightly comforted by the fact that Raven Software have developed the majority of the game, and they have brought us a selection of great games in the past including the Star Wars: Jedi Knight series and the X-Men... ...X-Men Origins: Wolverine is yet another film of the Marvel film franchise. X-Men of course has become popular in film and in Animated series. This film pretty much pushes limits to the top, as this is a fantastic film to start a wolverine series on. In the 19th century, a boy named James is very ill in bed. He is accompanied by his friend, Victor. As his father comes up stairs to see how James is doing, Victor's father bangs on the front door. As James' father goes to see to him, gun shots can be heard a few seconds later. James runs out of the room, to see his father dead on the floor. Victor's father looks drunk, and James feels something weird happen to him... Claws start coming from his fists, and he runs up to Victor's father and stabs him in the chest with them. Advantages: Excellent entertainment, action! And Hugh Jackman's body...
Disadvantages: I got a bit confused at times...

...Although I've never read the X-Men comic books, I really enjoyed the movies and was really gutted when they made the last of the trilogy. Imagine my glee when I found out that they were releasing X-Men Origins - Wolverine! Wolverine was one of my favourite characters from the X-Men movies, so I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Sadly, I had to wait until the DVD was released but I finally got to see it the other night and I wasn't disappointed! What the film is about I don't want to go into too much detail, but the film is about Wolverine's origins...funnily enough. It takes you back to when his claws, which were then bone, became adamantium and tells you all about the love, hurt, loss and pain he had along the way. It's full of action and you really get to see a rawer, more emotional side of Wolverine that you don... Read review
