Longevity alluded Mari Wilson in her initial role as pop singer but she managed to forge a credible career in film and television recording the themes for BBc,s "Coupling" (Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps)and "Would you Dance With a Stranger"from the Ruth Ellis bio pic in 1991,both of these track are included here ,the sleeve notes are a little scant but with such a high standard of music...

Even though Teairra Mari has released 2 well known singles, she hasn't been recognized much here in the UK, so here's a little about how she came about!
Teairra Mari was born in Detroit, Michigan on 2 December 1987. When she was 13, she was signed with K.I.S.S Productions, and spent all of her time in the studio writing songs and working with different producers. Big Mike, who took Teairra under his wing, released Teairra’s first album, EP Get Away in 2003, which only featured 5 songs, and soon became well known in Detroit.
When Teairra turned 16, Big Mike thought that Teairra was ready for a proper career in the music business, so he introduced her to many label execs. The one that took an interest in Teairra the most was Daryl Simmons, who gave Teairra’s demo to Island Def Jam Record’s...

Advantages: Some excellent B-Sides, a decent mixture of early and later material Disadvantages: One or two classic B-Sides glaringly absent, some recent B-Sides are a bit average

This song is a good illustration of their early punk roots brimming with the raw energy and anger that they became famous for, with raw vocals coming from a young James Dean Bradfield. The Lyrics are inspired by the Situationist ideology that capitalism provides us with a passive, passionless and unfufilling life dominated by consumerism, which can only be improved through revolution or disruption of the system 'Cut your hair in front of businessmen; Destroy words and ignore their truth; Wearing hate like they wear money; There is too many numbers for us to sleep; You live stoned in obedience'
