It builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds and it builds till the most amazing, crashing, (often) beautiful crescendo. Then it slowly winds down, returning slowly to its quiet beginning. It may sound boring, but when done right it’s stunning, awe-inspiring, beautiful, luxurious… Of course, as I said it was with Infinity, it does not always work. Sometimes it appears that they can’t get their energy going. But I think that Infinity is a blip. Their double CD Lift Yer Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven is pretty heavenly itself; constituting 90 minutes of great music (though quite as good Yanqui UXO). Advantages: Loving crafted, genre transcending gem of an album
Disadvantages: Don't be put off by it being "country".

...Piney Gir is a London-based musician originally from Kansas. She had/has many musical projects, including an all-girl band called The Schla La Las (http://www.myspace.com/theschlalalas), now sadly "dead". Her debut album Peakahokahoo was electronic in sound, and experiments with country versions of songs of that album gave us The Piney Gir Country Roadshow and this album, Hold Yer Horses. I have to tell you, it certainly surprised me at that I loved this album. I'm not a fan of country at all. Say "country music" to me and I think of Billy Ray Cyrus and Kenny Rogers and run a mile. Maybe game for a Dolly Parton sing-along when I'm verrrrry drunk.... but you get the idea. I like mostly like metal and dark electronic music. Yet this album makes me want to put on a flouncy gingham dress and a glittery cowboy hat and get drunk... Read review

Advantages: Catchy light tunes.
Disadvantages: Sounds similar to other indie bands around.

...Well, i wouldn't say it's everyones taste, but i like this album very much. If your into indie/alternative music, or bands such as bloc party/radiohead/the maccabees, i would buy/download. I wouldn't expect this album to blow you away, but it is good to listen to every now and then, my personal favourites on the album are, "never ment to hurt you" which is a catchy song with very random lyrics, but they work, and "morden" which is also another very catchy song, and is a bit more upbeat than "never ment to hurt you" and is my personal favourite out the bunch. In all, i would say the album is good, with a few songs il be playing in few years time, but if you don't have a lot of money i wouldnt buy, unless you really know/think you like it.
