...Paul McKenna is a hypnotherapist that has become a household name by personally helping celebrities to quit smoking, lose weight etc, releasing self help books and CDs and hosting a hypnosis show, that was aired on a Saturday night, that ridiculed some audience members by hypnotising them and making them do stupid things. I have never been hypnotised and am sceptical about whether it works. Whilst watching the Paul McKenna show years ago I often wondered whether the audience were actually hypnotised or whether they were ?plants?. In addition, of those people I know that have been hypnotised (and there are only two of them) it did not work, so I did not hold out too much hope for this book and CD combo. ...myself starting to over eat I just read the book again to remind myself of the ideas in it. There is also a handy list in the book, it is a hunger scale. 1. Physically faint 2. Ravenous 3.Fairly hungry 4. Slightly hungry 5.Neutral 6. Pleasantly satisfied 7. Full 8.Stuffed 9.Bloated 10.Nauseus He says that before you eat anything, ask yourself to rate how hungry you feel, and you should only eat when you are at number 3 or 4. Sounds simple doesnt it, but it worked for me. It probably wont work for everyone, my husband thinks that hypnotism is a load of rubbish, he tried to give up smoking and saw various hypnotists and they didnt work because he didnt want to believe in it. Paul McKenna also says that when eating you should really eat slowly, think about how the food tastes, enjoy every mouthful, again this makes sense... Read review

Disadvantages: There are disadvantages to removing excess weight?

...Personally I dont like the title I Can Make You Thin I would prefer slimmer to Thin. BUT • Would you like to feel really happy with your body? • Are you unable to lose those last 10 pounds? • Do you find it difficult to say no to second helpings? • Do you get disheartened about your eating habits and your weight? • Then this amazing book and CD can help you! That is what is written on the back of the book. BUT could it really work? I have been on numerous diets from weight watchers to slimming world to rosemary Connolly to Atkins. I have always lost weight. However as soon as I start eating 'normally' again the weight piled on and more. Paul says congratulations on your weight loss using a diet. Come back in 6 months and tell me about your diet then. Back in January it suddenly hit me... Read review
