This was one of the best shows I have seen for a long while Gerry Marsden is besides a top singer a very funny guy. He often had us all in stitches with the jokes he came out with and he also did a question and answer session in between singing such classics as Ferry cross the Mersey , You'll never walk alone , I like it and lot's more. These are Gerry's songs and no one can sing them quite like him. Although he is nearly sixty himself now ,you would not believe it from his tireless performance which saw him on stage for nearly two hours. You'll Never Walk Alone

Advantages: Unusual, sweet story about a controversial subject
Disadvantages: Takes time to find its tone and pace, a little sugary in places

I wouldn't have picked this book up if it weren't for Richard and Judy's book club, which is something that's never happened before, partly because I rarely watch the programme. But whereas Richard and Judy said they wouldn't normally have read this otherwise because of its subject matter, that was the initial attraction for me - judging by its cover, I would have assumed it was some girly story about friendship or sisterhood that would be too saccharine for me. I was only partly right: The Girls is undoubtedly, first and foremost, a story of friendship and sisterhood, but its unique selling point is that the sisters in question, Rose and Ruby Darlen, are conjoined twins. The first paragraph starts "I have never looked into my sister's eyes. I have never bathed alone" and ends "I'd live a thousand lives as me, to be loved so ...

You'll never walk alone

Advantages: We do win the odd thing
Disadvantages: we do lose a lot as well

What I remember the most about those days was looking accross the crowd, all those bobbing heads, like a huge living animal, moving backward and forward like waves on a sea, it was truely amazing sight for a child.
