Duffy - Mercy This is a song of Duffy's debut album that made it straight to number one from the first internet download releases. Her music is said to be similar to the music from Amy Winehouse. Duffy is originally from Wales and became famous from a talent show. *2. Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music A catchy very lively song by Rihanna similar to some of her other releases favourite of mine on this album. This song is from Rihanna's album 'Good Girl Gone Bad'. *3. Basshunter - Now You're Gone I had heard this song before I heard it by Basshunter not sure where but it was familiar, a really fast easy to get into song. Advantages: Lots of lovely versions of some Porter Classics
Disadvantages: A couple of bad notes, and if you don't like Porter, you won't want this album

...It is the rare occasion that finds me buying a movie soundtrack. The main reason for this is that many have some silly background music tracks added to them that frankly, aren't all that fantastic musically, and were probably added just to have enough sound-bites to justify putting out an album. Oh, sure, the soundtrack for "Good Morning Vietnam" is one exception - but who doesn't enjoy hearing Robin Williams doing his run-off-at-the-mouth shtick in addition to some great Rock & Roll? Another exception is this CD - the soundtrack for De-Lovely. You see, from the moment I saw this movie, I knew I was going to buy the soundtrack. I've always loved Cole Porter songs, and this was a way to get a nice collection while also getting an interesting combination of artists performing them. Here's what I think of this CD. Advantages: Some of the best songs ever written!
Disadvantages: Very bland

...John Barrowman has recently leapt into the spotlight due to a major role in the first series of the BBC's 'Doctor Who' relaunch, but has been known as a star of musicals for quite some time, and has also made various appearances in films and sitcoms. This album was presumably inspired by his recent involvement in two Cole Porter projects - the National Theatre's revival of Anything Goes and the Porter biopic De-Lovely, where he dueted with Kevin Kline on the song 'Night and Day'. Barrowman is one of those implausibly talented people - he's ludicrously handsome, he has a great singing voice, and he's an accomplished singer and dancer.
