You've Come A Long Way Baby is a tremendous album and at the time of it's release it was a fresh new sound which everybody fell in love with. The album has a respectable 11 tracks all of which sound great and are hits within their own rite and from listening to these tracks you can also tell that cook has delved deep into his record collection and put many fantastic samples to use.
The album kick starts with the great Right Here, Right Now this track alone is a huge step up since cook's earlier album Better Living Through Chemistry and sets the mark for the rest of the album which is instantly maintained with the next track The Rockafeller Skank.
The Rockafeller Skank is another fantastic track and has a cool guitar groove with some nice beats and breaks i don't need to say much else everybody knows this track. There is then more of the same throughout the album which really is of a high standard, in particular with tracks such as Gangster Tripping, Build It Up - Tear It Down and Praise You which was voted by MTV viewers for having one of the best videos of all time.
Track Listing: 1. Right Here, Right Now 2. The Rockerfeller Skank 3. Fucking In Heaven 4. Gangster Tripping 5. Build It Up - Tear It Down 6. Kalifornia 7. Soul Surfing 8. You're Not From Brighton 9. Praise You 10. Love Island 11. Acid 8000
Overall this is an album you must have in your collection and is full of fantstic build ups and breaks with some nice beats and catchy vocal samples, you will love this.
You will be looking to spend about £5 on this album to get the best deal but anything between £5 - 10 is great value, there are also some nice pictures in the album sleeve which give you an insight into cook's massive record collection, not to be missed.
