Advantages: Classic hair metal of its day Disadvantages: shame its days where back in the 80s
...Kip Winger has an amazing voice, it can handle ballsy rock tracks like def leppardesque "easy come, easy go" and "cant get enough" and the softer "In the days we'll never see"
Highlight and stand out track of the album is the power ballad "Miles Away" gaurenteed to melt a rock chicks heart.
Reb Beach's guitaring is wasted on this kind of music but there are occational flashes of what he can do.
Overall its a "not bad" album with some decent tracks on it but about half you would class as just "b" sides or fillers.
Probably not for the current rock fans but more for the ageing rockers like myself whos time was in the 80's.
If you like Bon Jovi, Great White or Def Leppard this may be for you but if you prefer Metallica, Iron Maiden or slipknot you may be better off looking elsewhere.
On a scale of one to ten i;d give it about 6, its...

THE BAND
The Stone Roses or an early incarnation of them formed in 1984 and after a few name changes ('The Patrol ' and 'The English Roses') they settled on The Stone Roses in 1985. The lead singer Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire had been friends since childhood having lived only a few streets apart in a suburb of Manchester.

The make up of the band underwent some changes and by early 1988 the line up of Brown and Squire was completed with Gary 'Mani' Mountfield on bass and Alan 'Reni' Wren on drums.
The band started playing 'illegal' gigs at warehouse parties around the north of England and this provided them with an opportunity to establish a fan...

Advantages: Young Knives goodness! Disadvantages: just a mini album :(
...I think this is the first offering from the Young Knives, unfortunately a mini album, with just 7 angsty-energetic tracks, which needless to say, could each easily hold its own. The album takes a few listens, but is definitely a real grower; and its very rare for it to not be on repeat on my ipod. 'walking on the autobahn' was an instant favourite of mine, as was 'the night of the trees' but my favourite track has to be 'john'. I fact every song on this album has a certain 'charm' to it-thats the only word i think can sum them up! these guys put so much energy into their performance and are just amazing, they really know how to play! Its hard to compare the young knives, but they are part of the indie/punk vibe and i guess if you like the futureheads, then it is guarenteed you will love them. expect big things......
