rock. There's a gritty, glam feel to Mick Ronson's production (check the Ziggy Stardust cop on "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"), while the loud'n'rude riffs of new guitarist Boz Boorer banish memories of the Smiths. Best news: for once the songs focus on adult life, not the man's well-documented adolescence. --Jeff Bateman
Advantages: Glum goes glam Disadvantages: Some of the music lacks subtlety
Your Arsenal kicks off with a fusillade of belligerent guitars directly descended from The Jam’s Eton Rifles out of T Rex’s Telegram Sam. The song is You’re Gonna Need Someone on Your Side. Make no mistake, Morrissey’s spoiling for a fight.
As a statement of intent, this opening gambit distances Morrissey as far as possible from the fey persona he often adopted in The Smiths. Whether squaring up for a ruck as on this track, or swinging a snooker ... ...can destroy them /You bet your life we will destroy them”. While he may be evasive about his own foibles in that song, You’re The One For Me, Fatty is one of Morrissey’s occasional outbursts of sincerity, but not without a stab of barbed wit: “You're the one I really, really love /And I will stay /Promise you'll say /If I'm ever in your way.” Similarly heartfelt, I know it's Gonna Happen Someday can easily hold its head up among inspirational ballads ...

Advantages: A well produced and strong album Disadvantages: A bit gloomy for some
Your Arsenal was first released by Morrissey in July 1992. The album had a more aggressive, distorted glammy sound than previous Morrissey work and was produced by Mick Ronson. Your Arsenal was generally seen as a return to form by the singer after the lukewarm reception to his previous album 1991's 'Kill Uncle'.
The Songs:
'You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side'
The glam feel of the album is evident on the first song which strives to be a glammy ... ...never do, would you put your arms around me?' sings Morrissey. He uses the song to spin a very Morrissey preoccupation with rejection, loneliness and wanting to make a connection with someone. 8/10
Overall
Your Arsenal is a very solid addition to the Morrissey catalogue, although not the best or most loveable record he has made as a solo artist. Mick Ronson's production and musical contributions lift the whole album up a notch and make it more ...

Morrisey: your arsenal.
I only like Morrissey because of my dad, if it were not for him I would have never heard of Morrissey.
This album was released in July 27 1992 in the UK.
Genre: alternative rock.
Your gonna need someone on your side: this has an amazing bass line it's got quite a deep tone to it too and the lyrics are great.
Glamorous Glue: beat is good and got quite a catchy rhythm too. I like the tempo of the lyrics and the way they ... ...nod along to and tap your foot I cant listen to this song in peace because my dad always sings to it, it gets quite annoying but it just goes to show that it is a really good song.
You're the one for me fatty: this song really made me laugh. If you want to listen to it type 'you're the one for me fatty' in the YouTube search bar. This song has great tempo great beat and rhythm and just generally makes me laugh.

Advantages: Seasick, Yet Still Docked; We Hate It When; You're The One For Me Disadvantages: No bad tracks to name
In my view Your Arsenal is one of Morrissey's finest albums and ranks second, behind Vauxhall And I, of all his albums. The album covers ground over a multitude of styles all done to perfection and in the traditional Morrissey style. The album ranges from deep and quite heavy for Morrissey tracks to Smiths style jangle pop to the slower ballads. You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side is a lively, quite heavy opener to the album and sets the tone ... ...strongest section of the album Your Arsenal follows on with Your The One For Me, Fatty, this is a big chorused track and another highlight. After the higher energy of the middle of the album it calms down on Seasick, Yet Still Docked, however this is easily one of the best songs on the album with the lyrics sung in a pained style the emotion of the song is portrayed effortlessly. The album ends with I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday, another slower, ...
