All the great OCS tunes - perfect introduction
Review of Songs For The Front Row (The Best Of Ocean Colour Scene) - Ocean Colour Scene by broxz

Advantages: all the great OCS tracks on one album, value for money, good live versions
Disadvantages: Not original

...This really is the best of Ocean Colour Scene, featuring not only their singles, but their best B-sides (Huckleberry Grove and Robin Hood) and a great album track (Get Blown Away from 'Marchin' Already). The compilation shows off their range of tempos and syles from the dancy 'Riverboat Song' to the rocking 'Hundred Mile High City' to mellow ballads like 'Robin Hood' and pretty much every stop in between. This makes it an excellant introduction to Ocean Colour Scene(although 'Anthology' will get you more tracks for your money), and an outstanding album in it's own right - I've listened to it nearly 100 times since I bought it in August of this year, and I can see myself listening to it 100 more times without getting bored. Worth buying if you are a fan of rock (not metal), or like good guitar-driven music, and as a band, Ocean Colour... Read review

Not your typical collection of B sides
Review of Alternative - Pet Shop Boys by ultras67

Advantages: Cracking Tracks,innovative
Disadvantages: A couple of tracks could / should have been culled

..., throbbing, high energy tunes powered by the Boys’ characteristically inhuman tempos and rhythms. One of the great strengths of this music is its riotous, unashamed artificiality and this is what makes In The Night, Paninaro and I Want A Dog. That and Tennant’s gauchely deadpan lyrics, heard to best effect in Was That What It Was? ‘You go to a club, you think that I’ll be there! I don’t though, ‘cos I’m not a member”. The second half of the collection has the real gems though. Euroboy and Music For Boys, apocalyptic Wagnerian hardcore both, tell us more about gay club culture than a hundred well intentioned TV programmes. There are tunes, too, which one suspects would have been Number 1 for several months, notably It Must Be Obvious, Too Many People and Bet She’s Not Your Girlfriend... Read review

Brilliant debut
Review of Introduction - Alex Parks by jamie43

Advantages: emoction in all songs and fantastic singing
Disadvantages: i cant give any bad points about it

...with fantastic lyrics written by herself and you cant help but sing along. 2.Cry-Nice tune good lyrics and is sung in a way it seems she is really upset as she sings it with so much emoction. 3.Dirty pretty words-Fast tune not the best song ever but a nice version. 4.Imagine-A classic song and her version does it real justice, song that really sticks in your head and sung in a brilliant way. 5.Not your average kind of girl-Written by alex slow tune and fantastic lyrics,A future number one for sure. 6-In my view the worst song of the album, but much better version than the gary jules one. 7-Another classic song and again she does it justice, you really fell that she means the words and makes you sing along. 8-My favourite song of all time and this is the best version I have ever heard of it.So much emoction sung brilliantly impossible to fault this,I have...
