Advantages: some classic reggae tracks including Rivers of babylon Disadvantages: 2 tracks are repeated
...of a Kingston shantytown low-life gangster (played by Jimmy Cliff) and his Robin Hood style journey from disaster to tragedy in the Jamaican slums. It was, and is, a brilliantly engaging film to which the Brazilian film 'City of God' owes not a little of its style and atmosphere.
The soundtrack, as well as complimenting the atmosphere of the film, in its compilation nicely represents that form of pre-Marley reggae known as Rock-Steady. Together with Ska, Rock-Steady came directly from Calypso and retained some of its 'jauntiness' while still being able to be sometimes dark and mournful.
Half the tracks on the CD are performed by Jimmy Cliff himself, as is the first:
*1-You Can Get It If You Really Want*
Well known track that hit the mainstream charts. Up tempo reggae.

Advantages: Ska-P sublime music for any ska, punk or rock lovers Disadvantages: none this album is flawless
...of a reggae feeling to it than any other song on here, though of course reggae and ska are of the same family. Do I need to mention the brass? No probably not. Just swing your hips and rock your head cos this music is magic.
'Tio Sam' is bouncy and another head bopper. The rhtym section of Ska P are outstanding they set sublime tempos. At times they are heavy, just like heavy rock , even metal put to a ska beat. They have made music inventive again. We even get a Metallica style guitar solo in this song though like much of this music it is tongue in cheek as well as tongue out.A cracking song!
'Violencia Machisto'. Even I can get close to a translation on this macho violence I guess. It is what you would expect from that title loud and rowdy. The keyboard in this song makes it. It is a case of one more brilliant track after another...

Advantages: A heavy metal bona fide classic, just try not liking this album. Disadvantages: If loud guitars and strong vovals aren't your thing, you may wan't to look elsewhere.
...The seminal metal album created by Priest, a raw mentality and even more raw guitar riffs. If you are looking to discover what heavy metal is really all about then i cannot recommend this album enough. It's a rare album in which everything comes together to create a sublime near perfect end product. The album includes an all time metal classic in "Breaking the law", a track driven by angst and public unrest. So in short if you won’t an album you can put on at any time and just rock out, you can't really go wrong with 'British steel'. Truly a classic metal album that people are still undoubtedly trying to emulate. British metal has never looked or sounded so good, and i doubt it will ever be back with the force and strength created in British Steel.
